The Great Amigo Thread...

You channeled Landy, while your butt channeled a giant turd. Poetic.

I knew you of all people would appreciate such an event.

I hope I end up in the Ring of Honor.

This is when I love Jerry
rcaldw said:
For anyone who has "known me" (we are talking online Cowboysown forum) for any length of time, you know that I'm not a fan of Jerry the GM. I'm still not. That hasn't changed. But if you've listened to me instead of reacted to me then you also know that I AM a fan of Jerry the passionate fan, and I'm a fan of Jerry the owner willing to spend money. There is ONE PARTICULAR TIME when I become a fan of Jerry the GM. It is when I agree with him about something and I know the majority of the fan base doesn't. When that happens I find comfort in his stubbornness. You just can't save Jerry from Jerry, and if you are on JERRY'S SIDE then you are pretty much assured of having your desires come to fruition.

Enter Johnny Manziel. I like Johnny as a football player. I think he has some special qualities (on the football field), and I think he could - as Jerry would say- make the franchise relevant for the next 10 years. I want to see us get him from Cleveland. I know I'm in the minority. I know the very mention of it makes some of our fans seethe. I know the majority of NFL media will say Jerry is crazy. I KNOW ALL OF THAT. But this is when I love Jerry the GM. It is when I want something (maybe stupidly) that Jerry also wants. I know he will ignore all of the outside voices, maybe even delight in spiting them, and what I want gets materialized.

Hello Johnny. Welcome to Dallas in 2016.

I will go on record now, Manziel will never be a Dallas Cowboy.

And you will never like a kicker either - but I know you like Dan Bailey.

Hostile said:
I can name 3 very high names whom Jerry listens to who do not want him.

Now, having said that, RG3 is entirely possible here next year if he is let go.

If.....

Who would that be?

And for the record, while I'm not big on bringing Manziel to Dallas, I'd want him waaay before I'd want Griffin.

Hostile said:
I really don't want either one, but again, either being here would be predicated upon a release by their current teams. I doubt Cleveland is going to do that, but Washington might. Then again they might fire Gruden and try a new coach for the Golden child...Art Briles?

Won't shock me.

I personally do not want either one of them, I just think it is plausible one could be here and I think it is Griffin. I will say that I never mind rolling the dice on someone else's redemption. It is one thing I truly admired about Al Davis in his glory days.
I wonder if anyone will notice he skipped right by the direct question asking him to name those 3 high names he hinted at, and gave a fluff answer about RGIII instead.

So we have a 100% chance if RG3 is let go.

Reliving My Adrian Peterson Agenda For a Moment
Hostile said:
So it was no secret that I was all in to get AD this year. How all in was I? I said our 2016 1st round pick was as good as gone if it were up to me to pull the trigger. Here's the thing, with AD I honestly thought we could be undefeated and I stand by that. The man is leading the NFL in rushing behind a line that is inferior to ours. Of course part of my prediction was that we would be healthy and we haven't been.

We aren't losing because Dez and Tony were down. We're losing because they were down and Murray was gone. I wanted to upgrade our running attack, and I definitely see AD as an upgrade over Murray. It was the perfect storm.

Until...AD opted for money over coming home and reported to Vikings Camp. If he had continued to hold out and kept the pressure on, I honestly feel they would have had to move on. It was simply too much cap room freed up to ignore. I was clearly wrong about how good they could be this year. They are way better than I expected.

If the plan had worked out and it had cost us our 2016 1st round pick and a couple of players I felt we could afford to lose, I can't help but wonder what our record would be, even with Tony down. I am being completely honest with you, without Tony, but having an actual run game to take the pressure off Weeden and Cassel, I'd put us at 10-2 right now instead of 4-8. Yeah, I am serious. 9-3 at worst for me.

If you were against giving up a 1st, if I were right and this team could be 9-3 right now, would you change your mind? Why or why not?

Understand something, I am not asking this to piss anyone off. I genuinely want to know how much value we all put on a 1st round pick.

To those who were united with me in wanting him, I already know how you probably feel, but your input is always welcome of course.

Let's not let this devolve into an angry thread. We had enough of that when it was a topic of discussion.

So yeah, just ignore the fact the Vikings were adamant they weren't trading him and you have this delusion that he "took money over going home".

Also ignore the fact that he was implying he knew it would happen because he had sources. I guess it was another prank, gosh darn it.

I don't really understand what he is looking for...does everyone agree with him on giving up a first? Not just the first but they have to agree that we'd be 10-2 or 9-3? He set himself up in a no lose situation...basically if you value the first over his 10 or 9 win projection you are.a terrible person.

Her Mom is out of town until either tomorrow night or Monday night. We are waiting until then. We will video it for all to see.

Anyone want to guess where she is going? I have been saying Europe, Italy sticks out to me for some reason.

This was posted Saturday night.^^

7:00 tonight she opens it. I will try and get the video loaded on here.

Thanks all.

This update posted about noon Sunday. ^^

Congrats to her and I wish her Godspeed... I know you and She-Hog are proud...

:rofl

I know it was probably an auto correct, but funny (and truthful) as hell. It's since been edited to 'She-Hos'. I only noticed it because somebody quoted it and the original spelling was in the quote.

I am scared out of my mind. Honest, as of right now, I do not know if we won or lost. Too big a day to have even seen scores yet.
Riiiiight. This was posted at 10:44pm. Nearly five hours after the game was over. And strangely enough, he still hasn't posted. Not once. Not a peep.

So, that would make him He-Hog. Kinda like He-Man, but bacon.

He finally breaks his silence. Still no TOH, though...

If the Cowboys change coaches, 70% chance it shortens the careers of a couple of players we all love.

This is the right guy. I am sorry it hasn't been a quick fix.
