Test...

I can promise you a subpar salary and east texas weather. That sounds like a good place to start negotiations. I will warn you, theres not much I can do about the salary.

I can tell by your post that you're a shrewd negotiator.

We are way off on salary and location.

Let me know what you can do.

I can provide short periods of shade in the summer months, I would have to be standing next to you though. Some might consider that a win, others may not.

Chubby people have a little smell to them as is...now you are talking about standing in direct sunlight?

Got an e-mail from the two owners of my company recently. They wanted me to go with them for coffee to talk about the future of the company. I was thinking it could be the beginning of the end as this is a small company that is reliant on one cash cow client and there have been a couple of sketchy patches over the past several years. Turns out I was way off. Company is doing well and I'm being promoted/receiving a substantial increase in salary.

:towel

Congrats...glad they are promoting someone who knows the business' financials and future.

:lol

Yeah, that's all handled by the owners and I have nothing to do with any of the financial planning or general business operations. I'm just managing projects. There haven't been any signs that I should be concerned about the immediate future of the company but the natural pessimist in my came out when I got that e-mail. So not only was it a relief to know that the company is in good shape but that I'm going to get a raise.

Well congrats on the promotion...although a hipster with a bunch of money makes me fear just how big your black framed glasses will be.

Thanks, though "a bunch of money" isn't really accurate. It's decent money and it's more than I did make but I'm not suddenly shopping for summer homes or booking a tour of Europe or anything. And you might be surprised to know that I don't wear glasses, even as a fashion statement. Or skinny jeans. No ironic, well-groomed mustache either. Then again I don't walk around with performance fleece tied around my waist either. :art

I thank you for your time.

While we're dishing out good news, it turns out I don't have black mold head.

No offense but I was secretly rooting for the black mold head somehow triggering super powers storyline. It would be kind of cool to know a superhero. Or perhaps super villain? :skurred

Yeah, it was a mixed bag.

My wife was excited so I just went with it.

I don't think she could handle the rigors of the superhero spousal life.

Wearing performance fleece around your waist is pretty much the boldest hipster statement of all.

What is ya, ignorant?!

He said he couldn't do much about the salary.

Your quoting style is both intriguing and moronic.

You can fool people some of the time, but most of the time you're not fooling people.

Or something.
