I like refried black beans :unsure But I don't have a problem with pintos either. I like them both

Did we go through a pinto versus black bean debate before?

If not, we need to.

I tried you people shut me down. Anything but Black Beans is the wrong answer, they are so versatile.

Lol @ black bean supporters. Pinto beans, gubment cheese and potatoes got me through childhood. You can put just about anything in a pot of beans.

When I was a kid I remember always having huge family picnics at the park and someone always brought cold pork and beans in a dish. It was pretty much a staple for picnics.

I never thought about it until a few months ago, but they don't eat that shit down here in the south.

So I noticed pork & beans were on sale on the grocery and bought a few cans.

My wife walked in on me eating straight out of the can and thought I was pulling some stupid joke, but my childhood rushed back to me in that fleeting instant and it was greatness.

And I dutch-ovened the shit out of here that evening.

So now pork & beans is my thing and no one else in the house likes them. Winner is me. :towel

I couldn't even tell you the difference between a pinto and a black bean.

Most beans kind of suck honestly.

I would agree with you on "most beans". Pinto beans are not most beans, though.

This is correct. You were raised right, my friend.

Then you have been in the wrong part of the south. Those are called baked beans, son! And, they are delicious.

We are quite familiar with baked beans. As they are baked, they are quite warm.

Up north, at least in Central Illinois, they would refrigerate pork & beans right out of the can. So you'd eat them cold and they were glorious.

Out of the can? GTFO of here with that nonsense. And, we serve baked beans cold, as well.

For the record, I'm not impressed with the Dak vs Romo poll

:lol

I picture you saying this whilst raising your nose in the air.

Let the rookie have his glory.

You've been doing these polls for years, but we never got over the hump.

This might be the one that does it. And if not, you can start a new poll.

Keep stacking polls, you're still our guy.

Well done.

Baked beans and pork 'n beans are two very different things. I'm pretty sure he was talking about the processed, canned version. Google pork 'n beans, spelled just that way. I think Van Kamps was the biggest brand name. It's basically a can of beans in some kind of sauce with maybe a small piece of pork fat hidden away somewhere inside.

Thanks for dumbing it down for the Texan.

I was trying to clarify that pork and beans is the shitty version and baked beans is where it's at. I had no idea they bastardized a picnic by pouring that slop into a casserole dish and serving it.

Casserole dish. Look at this high falutin' picnic'er.

We're talking pork 'n beans son. Think more along the lines of served in an old cool whip tub.
