Once I got home yesterday I was able to figure it out pretty easily. They're very simple to install. I'm not sure why a physically able person would allow themselves to be ripped off by these opportunistic services but it happens. Those install crews were all over the neighborhood raking in easy money.

Glad that you are safe. My mom and and dad are on the east coast, and I have been trying to coax them home.

Glad you're all good.

My sister-in-law lives down there too and she told us the same thing. We stopped worrying as we got to Wednesday evening and the trajectory pretty much had the storm missing most of south Florida.

The issue now is the east coast of Florida as well as central.

Hurricanes can do some serious damage, like what's happening to the coast right now, but pretty much all my experiences with them are as you described. Granted, central FL always gets off easier since the coast weakens it for us. But you don't seen tons of houses around here with shutters.

Thanks, we've been good so far. Love getting 2 extra days off from work for rain.

I actually thought about that. $200 for removal.

I could easily knock out 5 homes this afternoon and walk away with a grand.

Pretty much how it worked out for us as well. We were scheduled to have today off anyway but because of the storm they made Thursday a no work day as well.

We're also off on Monday for Columbus Day, so I'm about to experience the very rare 5 day weekend without having to burn a single day of vacation leave.
