Test...

No brother of mine would ever burn chicken thighs, that's really all I'm saying.

Well, I don't really claim him, but momma said that she wanted the family to be whole again, so I just kinda accept him.

BTW, no rain today, so the roads are much better. My daughter did throw up in the grocery store this morning, though, so the day is not completely devoid of drama.

It's because there it doesn't rain 5 inches in an hour. At least all of the times I have been there, it's more of what we would call a sprinkle.

It literally rains every afternoon for 4 straight months. I think we get plenty. Don't be bitter because your city planning is still in the stone age.

Yeah, but spreading it out over a bunch of small rains isn't even close to the same thing as getting 5 inches of rain in an hour.

On the other hand, Floridians are 90% more likely to encounter a deranged, lingerie-clad hobo on meth.

This is according to Scientific Proof Magazine.

It's not a bunch of sun showers. :lol We can handle inches at a time all the time...that's my point.

That's right...and you know why? Because a deranged, lingerie-clad hobo on meth is smart enough to live in a place where they aren't likely to drown in the street after a rain storm.

Right.

It rains a lot inf Florida, but in all the times I've been there, it's always like a quick shower or two and then the sun comes out. It isn't like it is here where we'll just get this huge concentrated downpour of rain where you get half a foot in an hour or whatever.

It's nuts.

I know you can handle inches at a time, but let's stay on the subject at hand.

In all seriousness, though, I do think there could be some improved engineering. In Houston's case, it would be difficult because this city is surrounded by so many bodies of water from the ocean, to lakes, rivers, and of course, bayous.

When all of that starts bleeding into one another, you then have the nightmare scenario like the one we've experienced recently.

But, like their engineers are smurter n stuffs.

They do have these things called hurricanes every now and then down there...
I even was there for one Sept. 2005...

I'm sure the founding fathers of all West Texas towns were laughed out of town when asking for money to put in a drainage system that can handle that much rain at one time. It hardly ever happens.

The funny thing is, it didn't flood much down here when hurricane Ike hit in 2008.

That goes to show you how crazy these random storms are that they can produce more heavy rainfall in a shorter amount of time than even a borderline cat 3 hurricane.
