When I was last working in an enterprise environment, we were still on Windows 7. Now after 6 long months of being out of the game, I'm now in a Windows 10 environment with a few Windows 8.1 thin clients scattered about.

Windows 10 isn't bad, but I still don't understand why they messed with the simplicity of Windows 7.

As for Windows 8? F that....I fricking hate Windows 8. What a total piece of shit OS that is.

Is Windows 10 going to get better or am I going to continue to be meh on it?
 
Don't know why I got all nostalgic and shit, but, man, started thinking about how long we've posted together and how our lives have developed over that time. Some people here could probably check 10 major life milestones over this time - married, bought home, kids, started your own rebellion, divorce, drivers license, lost virginity, graduated college, first million dollars made, etc.

a lot of posters gone now and even our posting activity has tapered off as life has gotten busier. Sucks for the DCC, but I'm hopeful it's for a good reason.

Oh yeah, it's cuz I watched the American idol finale. Fuck Taylor hicks.

Well, I can't obviously speak for them, but I love Windows 10. There are some pretty cool features. Let me list them for you.

1. You can right click on any Windows Office app on the metro screen (Excel, Word, etc.) and go directly to recently worked on/closed documents.

2. When you open File Explorer it brings up your recently close/most popular documents to make it easier to navigate to them. This works on just the system filing system and on a network.

3. The fact that you can hit the Windows key and just start typing to find programs/features is still really cool to me, even if it was available on 8.

4. Setting up multiple monitors is a breeze on 10. I always had issues with drivers and shit on previous versions.

That's all for now, but in short, I love 10, and I think you will once you have played around with it long enough.

Yeah, it's been a cool 12 years. I mean, just look how Smitty alone has grown. The once child now has a child. It's crazy.
 
So, I have a trip that I'm leaving for tomorrow. I'm staying at the Hilton. They now have this cool feature on their app that allows you to unlock your room without a key. They call it their Digital Key. You just press a button on the app while within 5 feet of the door and it unlocks. Pretty damn cool.
