This is a problem with democracy. 51% of the voting people can be wrong and it's legalized as correct.

Too many poor people/minorities and politicians now give a shit about their voting power. Furthermore, easier access to vote and social media making it easier for the poor/minorities to collaborate, unify and make their voice heard. The police can't silence them using brute force and scare tactics anymore either now that video is affordable and easily accessible/spread.
