I'm getting 400 feet of asphalt road and a 60 x 90 parking pad put in at the farm. I lease out my acreage to this dude for hay that apparently owns a paving company. I called him to ask if he could take out some trees for me while he was out on the tractor. Started talking to him about how I wish I could have a road out to the barn so I could park my vans and equipment out there. Out of nowhere he says that he owns a paving company and would be glad to do it for gas money as a neighborly thing. So for $1200 I am getting all of this work done.
All of these country folks out here have been awesome. Up the road we have a lesbo couple who grows veggies for grocery stores that have offered to share with us. The paver dude is hooking us up. Our other neighbor drove over with his tractor and offered to mow our grass since he was already out. Another neighbor came over to ask if we needed help cleaning up all of the junk in the barn. The lady that sold us the house gave us a TON of stuff for the farm - tools, mower...all sorts of stuff. Score!
