That sounds EXACTLY like a soldier I had in Ft. Carson. Dude was an habitual liar, and would not pay a bill. Car repo'd, etc... Finally got evicted from his off post apt. and I had to go clean that filthy mess out. Took me all weekend and it still had to have all the carpets replaced along with other repairs because he was such a filthy bastard. Every month I took calls from creditors because of him. Wage garnishment only went so far. The bill collectors were lined up waiting on this bum. And I had to go check his barracks room every couple days to ensure he wasn't letting it turn into a shithole, too. I was so glad when they finally got rid of him. It took awhile, but we finally got the ball rolling and he was chaptered out under failure to adapt. Not sure how they used that one, considering he was an E-4 on his second contract. Uh, wtf? They must have seen what he was like earlier, why let him reeinlist?

And to make matters worse, he had a kid with some civilian skank. She was just as nasty as he was. The kid eventually was taken away by the state before his chapter was final. Kid was three years old, and not once did I ever see it fully dressed. Usually it was in a dirty t shirt and a diaper sagging off his ass. Felt so bad for that kid. I was happy when the state finally stepped in and placed him in foster care. That was in 07-08. I hope they never got custody of him again.

How often do they drug test? Everything about that scenario screams meth addict.

I have worked with the Army on a few occasions and for the most part it has not been all that bad. I will be working closely with a Sergeant Major at my next job, so hopefully that works out well...my boss will be a Navy 0-6, making this my first joint assignment. There is a camaraderie with the Army though that I have always respected. When you guys deploy it is generally with a group of guys you have trained with and are homestationed together. Every time I go out it is with all new people, so the continuity that you guys would have is just not there.

Part of the problem is that these assholes take a bunch of No Explode or some other shit prior to the test and it makes them sick as hell.

Took the Galveston PD PAT recently. Pretty simple obstacle course. No more than two minutes of effort. People were throwing up after THAT.

He hasn't failed one yet. Maybe his wife is on that stuff. I don't know. From what I can tell by looking at his bills and bank statements, he and his wife are just a couple of idiots who don't know how to manage money. They'd don't even try.

They know money is tight for them yet they'll continue to withdraw money like they have an endless supply. Neither of them bother checking the account balance before making withdrawals. They just go to the ATM and pull out hundreds of dollars at a time, racking up over-draft fees along the way. It's pretty pathetic.

We had randoms all the time. And we'd have 100% sweeps quite often, too. I was one of the company UA guys. But this guy wasn't a meth addoct. He was fat and slovenly. Not a single thing about him said anything about having any energy or motivation. Low gear was his only gear. And he wasn't a pothead, either. Just a fat, lazy POS that didn't care what he looked or smelled like.

Being in the military makes some just complacent with their bills. They know they will get paid on the 1st and 15th, so people are just flatout foolish with their money. Another thing is that people are willing to work with active duty military to resolve credit issues I would think more than the average joe. Some kind of foolish, misplaced patriotism allows someone who is terrible with money to get more chances than they should

One guy who passed the exam I swear was pushing 350. I was really curious about how his run would go, but I don't think he even bothered to make the drive after they showed us the PAT demo video.

Ah, OK. Just with stories I've heard about meth heads it sounds like the same type of scenario. Habitual lying, never paying bills, poor personal hygiene, extremely filthy living conditions in the home, losing custody of a kid...all extremely common themes among meth addicts. Pretty sad that this POS didn't even have the excuse of addiction. He's just naturally that much of a scumbag. Horrid.

Yeah, this guy I'm talking about was the same with money. And when I went to clean his apt out, you'd have been shocked to see all the fast food wrappers piled in mountains all over that place. Pizza boxes, burger wrappers, soda cups... EVERY WHERE. Literally thousands of dollars worth. You could not see the floor in his house. And they had two cats.... OH. MY. GOD. I'm not kidding, the absolute worst mess I've ever seen. When this was first brought to commands attention, our platoon sgt had to go and speak w/ the land lord. He called in the company commander, he called in the battalion CSM. The apt was condemned until after it could be professionally cleaned and inspected along with necessary repairs. Parts of the floor was literally rotted out from God only knows what along with cat shit/piss. And that poor little kid was living right in the middle of it all.

Business around military bases are blood suckers. They see some young private that just fell off of mama's tit and has a guaranteed income. They'll give them all the credit in the world. And they know that most of them won't be able to carry the payments. And when it come time to collect, they know they'll get their money because it's the government they're going after. I've seen 18 year old kids drive onto base in brand new cars with every kind of upgrade imaginable. All of it WAY over priced and tagged with a 30 percent interest rate. These guys would sign off on it, being offered no payment for 60 days, then boom. Repo time. They're too stupid to realize how bad they're being raped, and the dealers just don't care. They'll take advantage of whoever they can. It got to the point where Ft. Carson put out that no soldier under the age of 21 could finance a car in Colorado Springs without their commander's signature. And if they did, that business would be placed on the black ball list on post. Yeah, it's an example of somebody's "rights" being infringed upon. But it sure saved a lot of heartache for these young guys.

Conversely, my BIL sucks at life and finally had motivation to do something meaningful and join the AF. He got a really good score (surprisingly) on his ASFAB and went through the whole process as far as what courses he wants to take and where he may end up. Then they told him to gain 20 lbs and come back another time. WTF? He's a little under weight, sure. But this is a kid who's tall and lean and despite eating junk, working out and taking tons of weight gainer products he just can't keep it on. So now he's going to be a mooch off his mother his whole life cause the AF told him to f off.

Ya his recruiter took him out to do some physical activities which he passed as well. I'm was pretty shocked to see how much effort the recruiter put into him throughout the whole process only to tell him to come back another time.
