Test...

Shit. That really sucks. RIP

God damn, that is awful.

Random rant/vent:

Holy hell, we have some dumb ass Soldiers in the Army. Unfortunately I'm saddled with one of the dumbest in the litter. He's a military intelligence analyst at that. The fact that he made it through the MI course lets you know the type of low standards the Army has adopted over the years.

Dude has been here for over a year and a half and is still incompetent as shit. If you don't hold his hand like a third grader and walk him through a simple task he'll screw the task up or half ass it.

Dude is constantly in debt. Literally....constantly in debt. Pay day arrives he and his wife withdraw large chunks of money then wonder why the account is overdrawn literally 48 hours after payday. This goes on every. single. payday.

And of course of Soldier of this caliber has to have poor personal hygiene. Dude is funky as hell. We've talked to him and counseled him to no avail. I've been pushing hard for a Administrative discharge. I have a meeting with our First Sergeant later today. Hopefully I finally get the go ahead to process this worthless turd out of the military.

I'm tired of burning my personal time trying to clean up and fix another one of his messes. That's one of the reasons I'm envious of the civilian sector and can't wait until I retire in a couple of years. If we were civilians that turd would have been flushed long ago. Hell, he probably wouldn't have been hired in the first place.

It's the same with the State. You can't just fire someone. You have to go through 56,000 steps of progressive discipline before you can finally get rid of someone. I know your frustration.

I appreciate your rant, but I doubt that he'd be released from a civilian job either.

I'm not in HR, but I've witnessed that it's difficult to get rid of trouble employees.

Lawsuits and unemployment benefits usually put talks of firings on ice.

and...I just got tIamtdg-stamped.

That sounds EXACTLY like a soldier I had in Ft. Carson. Dude was an habitual liar, and would not pay a bill. Car repo'd, etc... Finally got evicted from his off post apt. and I had to go clean that filthy mess out. Took me all weekend and it still had to have all the carpets replaced along with other repairs because he was such a filthy bastard. Every month I took calls from creditors because of him. Wage garnishment only went so far. The bill collectors were lined up waiting on this bum. And I had to go check his barracks room every couple days to ensure he wasn't letting it turn into a shithole, too. I was so glad when they finally got rid of him. It took awhile, but we finally got the ball rolling and he was chaptered out under failure to adapt. Not sure how they used that one, considering he was an E-4 on his second contract. Uh, wtf? They must have seen what he was like earlier, why let him reeinlist?

And to make matters worse, he had a kid with some civilian skank. She was just as nasty as he was. The kid eventually was taken away by the state before his chapter was final. Kid was three years old, and not once did I ever see it fully dressed. Usually it was in a dirty t shirt and a diaper sagging off his ass. Felt so bad for that kid. I was happy when the state finally stepped in and placed him in foster care. That was in 07-08. I hope they never got custody of him again.

I feel like there's something you're not telling us here.

There had to be a really awesome quality to this guy's character hidden in all that rubbish.

The young guys coming in don't get it. We have some that come in and are real sharp, but I am not thrilled with the new troops we have coming in. Having said that though, the guys before us were probably saying the same thing.

Ewww, that sounds REALLY gross.

My virus alerts went crazy shortly afterward, so it might have been a little nastier than I first assumed.

Nope, sorry. He was a short, fat white dude that looked like he brushed his teeth with a stick of butter, and smelled like an old gym locker. Not much more too him.

I did my PT test yesterday and there were 3 folks after...a young male Lt and two SrA, one male, one female...and they were puking at the end of it. The female SrA could barely stand up after the test. It was embarassing.

So you know my frustration. At least as a civilian you don't have to personally get involved on helping the morons get out of bad situations they've created for themselves through reckless behavior and habits.

As you mentioned, in the military we're expected to spend time after hours and on weekends babysitting these grown ass adults. Just last night I had to climb out of bed around 10PM and get him moved into a barracks room because his dumbass got kicked out of an apartment he was sharing. I didn't get him until 12:30AM.

That's probably what I'm most looking forward to. Not having to burn my free time babysitting another adult.

Ewww, that sounds REALLY gross.

:lol

Time for you to get a new PC, sounds like.

There was a diamond under there.

You just didn't scratch far enough.

Don't you guys only run a mile and a half?

It is much easier to get rid of folks in the AF now. With all our downsizing they look for any way to get folks out.

Don't you guys only run with a mile and a half?

Yes.

Part of the problem is that these assholes take a bunch of No Explode or some other shit prior to the test and it makes them sick as hell.

Probably so. But speaking on the Army side of the house, I'd say the younger generation is far worse. We were so concerned with building troop levels to support the Iraq and Afghan wars that they let any and everyone into the Army.

Couldn't pass a PT....they'd do a waiver for you.

Have some criminal convictions....they'd waive that too.

It was ridiculous.

When I was in Germany I had a Soldier show up to our section 85 lbs overweight. He'd never passed a PT or made weight in Basic or during MOS Training yet they passed him along. Before the wars kicked off if you couldn't pass a PT test or make weight you didn't graduate basic. They recycled you to another class to try again.
