Ghana totally outplayed us and went toe to toe with Germany.

Portugal got demolished by Germany and were out played by us.

I have seen nothing from Portugal that leads me to believe that they're gonna beat Ghana. Remember that Portugal have to go all out in hopes of winning by 3 goals or more, and that is going to leave them completely open to that dangerous Ghana counter attack.

I can't see Portugal winning that game.
Ghana has to play the same, plus Pepe being back will slow Ghana down.

Muntari being out for Ghana will hurt them alot as well. No idea what will happen but I'm hoping it somehow ends up in a draw.

So...if one team is to win, we'd rather have Portugal win due to goal differential advantage?

Definitely. They'd have to win in a blow out or we lose in the blowout for them to move on.

I wish RVP were playing today. This Netherlands/Chile match is going to be fun.

The game against Ghana broke the previous record I believe. I assume the Germany game will do just as well and so on til we're out. Not sure what's different this year as opposed to other national teams in the last 16 years that's making the country want to watch them more but it's exciting to watch these games with other people that are interested. 8 years ago I had to go to a local English Pub to watch some games to get that atmosphere. While it was great, this is much better.

Here ya go, Ace. A gif to satisfy both of your sicknesses.

Simple answer: The game is growing in popularity here in the states.

I think the game yesterday was the first one that I have ever watched from start to finish. It was entertaining but not enough to make me want to watch other than the World Cup games. I guess I can sacrifice every 4 years.

There are lots of people who only watch the WC, and that's fine.

But the game is on steady incline here in the states. I think the CL drew it's highest ratings ever here as well this year.

To put it in perspective, the BCS Championship Auburn - Florida State got 25.6 million viewers.....

....but NFL Draft Round 1 got 32m.
