Wat? Their soccer team is going to eat a metric ton of food?
 
I really think the broadcasts should do a much better job of explaining the relevant rules that come up.

They keep referring to whether that 2nd goal was offsides, but they never once explained what would actually make it offsides. The rules are confusing and not intuitive. I would like to know what the rule is.

And that's a consistent pattern. A lot of rulings are happening and I haven't heard once them explain what's going on.

There are I'm assuming a bunch of people like me who are watching this but rarely watch soccer.
 
Everybody knows Houston (minus downtown) looks like Albuquerque. :doh

The long and short of it is the attacking player who gets the ball can't be beyond the last defender (not including the goalie) when the ball is kicked by his teammate. Once it's kicked and is in the air then it doesn't matter.

There's some nuance to it but that's the gist of it.
