Redskins Stuff...

That's why I partly normally like to defer. But, I can see the argument for the other for this game.
I don't think there's ever really a good reason to take the ball first.

Too often you see teams who have it last in the first half and then get the ball again after the half and it's a huge momentum shift. If you don't score a touchdown after taking the ball first, it seems like you're chasing it the rest of the game.

Maybe it's slightly easier at home, but given the choice I wouldn't ever take the ball first on the road.

I'm with you. I would much rather have the ball first in the second. I can just see the argument of letting them have it first and their team score, decimating the defense for the rest of the game. But, the easy argument to counter that is, if that's all it takes to decimate your defense, you have much bigger problems.

I’m going to play devils advocate… what if we take the ball .. go 3 and out and punt …does this further deflate us?

Yep.

It's cool if you take the ball and score. But if you punt like we did last week, and then your weak ass defense gives up a TD, you're doubly behind the eight ball because they have the lead and on top of that get the ball after halftime.
