I like mine except the occasional charging.

Here is what I did for that. I leave it uncharged and now the doorbell doesnt ring. We have a Google Nest camera above the door and its a superior camera anyways.

Now the solicitors just stand at our door ringing a doorbell that doesnt ring. We aren't disturbed.

But how do you talk to them? Thats the real question.

Solicitors? I dont. They eventually leave when nobody comes to the door. Mind you I dont turn the TV down either. Just go about my life and the people that we know call ahead before they come or are family and just come in.

So, question for you animals:

I need a new laptop. Just a basic cheap thing, no gaming, mostly just for wasting time on DCC. :unsure I've been warned that the sub-$500 ones I've looked at have a lesser quality TN screen, and I can see at the store where the screen washes out if you move to view at much of an angle. The old Dell POS I'm enduring has multiple issues, but it does have a good wide angle viewing screen. Would downgrading to this lesser screen really bother me that much, or is it something you'd quickly get used to?

Right now my thought is I'm waiting for July 5 to see if a $549 Asus at Sams Club with a better IPS screen goes on sale, but I don't know if I can even wait that long because this Dell is driving me insane. There are a couple at Sams that are plenty powerful CPU/RAM/HDD-wise enough on sale for $399 right now.

This laptop is one I got at Costco about 4 years ago. It's a Lenovo and it has 16 gig of RAM, 500 gig of memory, and a 2.3 gig dual core processor and it was around $500. I haven't had any troubles at all with it outside of having to replace the fan in it. And, it has great peripheral screen viewing.
