So, question for you animals:
I need a new laptop. Just a basic cheap thing, no gaming, mostly just for wasting time on DCC.

I've been warned that the sub-$500 ones I've looked at have a lesser quality TN screen, and I can see at the store where the screen washes out if you move to view at much of an angle. The old Dell POS I'm enduring has multiple issues, but it does have a good wide angle viewing screen. Would downgrading to this lesser screen really bother me that much, or is it something you'd quickly get used to?
Right now my thought is I'm waiting for July 5 to see if a $549 Asus at Sams Club with a better IPS screen goes on sale, but I don't know if I can even wait that long because this Dell is driving me insane. There are a couple at Sams that are plenty powerful CPU/RAM/HDD-wise enough on sale for $399 right now.
