Prospects Dallas Has Shown Interest In - 2026

But he is though. Outside of Methusidor and maybe Ioane.
On a fully baked defense that has solid CB coverage, pass rush, and run support taken care of then Thieneman at FS with his elite deep range is a strong play.

Dallas is not that team.

Late, late first round at best. Still very good being a top 32 player, but no way would I take him at 12. Ever.

Defensive leader, green dot → Downs
Turnover-producing free safety → Thieneman
High-ceiling, high measurable → McNeil-Warren

I wouldn't want to take any of those players you mentioned at 12.

This is definitely emphasizing need over BPA. He's not in my top 30 players!

Thieneman is not a better prospect than Sadiq, Proctor, Ioane, or Freeling or ANY of the first round WRs (or Mesidor, Zion Young, Hill, Hood, or even Faulk) and he might make less of an impact than any of them in 2026.

He's my third ranked safety... I can't imagine a world where we take him at 12

It's fine if you don't think he's top 30 but he's consensus top 20 and I don't see any world where McNeil-Warren is ahead of him beyond physical size/downhill explosiveness.

Thieneman is better in basically every type of coverage and has the versatility to play the slot or as a single high safety.

Neither would I, so we should trade it. I was listing players I have closer to Thieneman-- late first round talent-wise.

If we must draft a player, that is absolutely zero trade downs are happening, then McCoy is who I take despite the depth at CB. I think he'll be ultimately better than Delane. I'd rather have Bain, if he falls. I'm torn on Downs, and down on safety in general.

McCoy will also turn 21 before the season starts, and so he's still maturing despite being so talented already.

Maybe it's a bias. I was surprised at how fast Thieneman is, and am prolly over-valuing EMW's hitting ability.

Probably my favorite CB after the top two, I just have a feeling they're going to laser focus on a slot.

Then put Chris Johnson in the slot. He played there some in college. 11.4% of his snaps last year to be exact.

Kind of brings me back to the Cooper DeJean as the ideal slot in the defense scenario. DeJean wasn't a slot corner in college. He had elite ball skills (Chris Johnson), he tackled really well, and was really good in zone coverages (Chris Johnson). Both similar speed too.

Why not do the same thing he did with Cooper DeJean with Chris Johnson? I think they share a number of similarities (With the exception of one massive difference...)

And added bonus if Bland's career is shot or Revel isn't what everyone thought he was in college, you've got a dude who can play outside corner.
