Prospects Dallas Has Shown Interest In - 2026

Calvin still has uber secret sources nobody else has.
But, he badly needs a spell checker. Between him and Hill it's like reading the writing of a 2nd grader.

I'm not a big Terrel guy. I do think a lack of speed shows on film. And I don't like his poor angles as a result. Also something about his tackling doesn't look like it will translate.

He's just another guy who I'd love at 35 but would be kind of meh about at 20. I think he'll be an excellent slot guy immediately, but probably never really an outside CB, although maybe that doesn't matter if Parker thinks he can be his DeJean here.

I love his run support and aggressiveness as a tackler though, that's the last thing I'm worried about besides his size.

I do love his agreesiveness. But maybe it was just what I was watching. I just saw way too much of guy unblocked blitzing and either missing the QB or barely getting the QB. Just felt like, yikes that's not going to work in the NFL. And you'd see some plays where he really took some poor angles and it showed his lack of speed. Just didn't see a guy who could explode and close. Instead it was like he tried to, and then would fall behind and have to make the tackle 5 or 10 yards up field.

I'd have Ponds over him. There are just corners I like more. But my guess is they want to look at what ever injury he claimed caused the 4.68 forty. I applaud the guy for running but there is either an injury concern that needs to be looked at or his speed is a huge concern.

The thing with Ponds, assuming we are heavily targeting a slot, is that he never really played in the slot.

Ponds is probably the slightly better prospect overall although it's a bit of a leap of faith that he can just jump into being a full-time slot player in the NFL after never really doing it in college.

If I'm just going pure slot guy I think I prefer Scott. Who I don't see the same concerns I have with Terrell.

But I'm not overly worried about a guy like Ponds or Rivers being able to be moved to the slot. I think it's over thinking it to say a corner we draft has to have been a slot guy in college.

Same. Give me Hood, Scott, Johnson, or Ponds instead, especially since I can draft them a little later

They clearly want someone who can play in the slot though, and Parker turned DeJean (slot only hybrid, definitely not an outside CB) into a Pro Bowler.

I explicitly trust whatever we do with that spot in terms of a draft pick, whether it's Terrell or someone else.

Kid might be the next Darrell Green. Crazy athletic ability combined with a competitor’s will power. At times the guy refused to get beat.

My favorite CB, maybe overall defender in this draft

I don't remember DeJean ever playing the slot at Iowa. I could be wrong but my recollection is he was a boundary guy who some thought may move to safety. Just a phenomenal athlete though. Crazy good with the ball in his hands as well. I just don't see any similarities to Terrell but I get the trusting Parker part.

I'd honestly feel better drafting Thieneman than Terrell as my slot corner.

I think it’s a mistake to over-index on exact position match relative to talent, heart, and production. A great player is a great player, and sometimes you need to tailor your scheme instead

The best corners on a college team will generally play outside corner. So I have a hard time sort of writing those guys off because I need a slot corner for the NFL. To me if a guy has a certain skill set and is a great corner, he can be moved to the slot without too much trouble.

But I will agree that unless Durant is playing the slot (which I think he can do) than nickel corner is a bigger need than boundary corner.

I'm not comparing Terrell to DeJean as prospects, just that Parker knows exactly what he wants in the secondary, and maybe even moreso at the slot spot, and as such I'd trust whatever he wants to do there.

I'd also obviously prefer Thieneman given he's my fallback at 12.

This is definitely emphasizing need over BPA. He's not in my top 30 players!

Thieneman is not a better prospect than Sadiq, Proctor, Ioane, or Freeling or ANY of the first round WRs (or Mesidor, Zion Young, Hill, Hood, or even Faulk) and he might make less of an impact than any of them in 2026.

He's my third ranked safety... I can't imagine a world where we take him at 12

You might be the only guy that doesn't have Theineman in their top 30. Probably even top 20.

But he is though. Outside of Methusidor and maybe Ioane.
