Prospects Dallas Has Shown Interest In - 2026

I agree with Carp we clearly need a talented rotation guy for 2026 at EDGE and eventual starter to take over for Gary. We could also use another really good edge as a hedge for if what we're projecting EZ to become never materializes. I don't think Sam Williams is reliably that guy.

And besides, it's like C-Rock said, you want waves of these guys and also rushing from non-traditional positions on the field. We should expect in nickel packages that everyone on the front seven could be asked to rush the passer.

So draft two.

And also draft two CBs.

This draft is deep at both positions. Tap it.

I disagree with Carp that we are good to start a full game with what we have at CB. The draft has to inject talent at the position, preferably future starters as we are paper thin-- starting 1 overpaid decent player, 1 draft projection who was injured last year and seriously underperformed in 2025, and a JAG. The depth is ALL JAGs.

Lastly we need a starting LB like right now. We also need yet another to join our rotation. Overshown, exciting as he's been at times, has yet to play a full season. So we have half of one guy out of a two-person starting tandem. It's another 'draft two' situation, and there's decent depth to do so, esp. if we have a 2nd round pick.

Trade down, get those 2nd and 3rd/4th round extra picks, and it's all there for the drafting.

So, that's six picks. How many draft picks do you think we have? And you're not even mentioning possible picks at OT, RB, TE, etc...

Or are we just assuming we'll be able to gather up all we need with trade downs, and still be able to find suitable starters/contributors with this bounty of picks we are about to receive?

Yeah, that's why I'm advocating the trade down. It's a combination of need plus where this draft happens to be strong. It has good edge rushers and CB's throughout, but the quality of 2-3rd round LBs, Edge, and CBs is very high.

PLUS there are CB's and WR's teams will want to trade up for. For example supposing there's a run on WRs and Omar Cooper or Boston is sitting there at 20 and Buffalo wants him. Or maybe Lemon somehow falls and more than one team is eager to get the falling value.

I'd trade 20 for 26 and 91 in a heartbeat, as Buffalo won't be guaranteed of getting that guy at 26.

Well sure. EVERYONE advocates for trading down. Gather picks. Fill those holes.

It’s mind boggling that teams don’t follow this blueprint for success more often.

Maybe trading down is a lot harder than we’d like to think. Unless you’re willing to take the short end in value, of course.
