I know, they don't do that.

The one thing I will say is you never know what the level of interest is. We bring guys in who we view as fourth, fifth, sixth round guys. So just because a guy visits doesn't mean we value him as a second round pick for example. We may think he is a third or fourth. Heck we have brought in 30 visits that go undrafted before. So obviously it's not always a sign that we grade a guy highly. More so I think it shows that we want a QB in this draft.
 
We're only about 4 weeks out from the draft and barely have any confirmed 30 visits, kind of strange.

But the real idiocy of it is that you have 4 years left on Dak's deal, the rookie would have a 4-year deal as well, so you're in a position where you basically have 0 years of a rookie QB contract to give you max cap flexibility.

If the rookie works out you're going straight from Dak's deal (with whatever dead cap) to an extension for the rookie.

Im still schilling for McCord, or Howard later in the draft. Would consider Shough or maybe even Gabriel in later rounds.

You dont want anything to do with Shough. He is Mr. Glass. This was the 1st year in his 7 year college career where he played all of the games and his injuries arent small injuries. They are always season ending injuries. Every year.

Yeah I just don't think this QB class is good enough and our need isn't great enough to draft one higher. And if they are gone by the fifth round so be it. We have too many needs at too many positions to throw away a draft pick at QB in the first three rounds. Odds are who ever we draft is nothing more than a backup for the next few years.

Completely agree. Knowing there will be a couple of decent options later there is no one I would take In the first three rounds.
