Prospects Dallas Has Shown Interest In - 2024

Yeah I very much doubt it but NT's are sometimes hard to predict where they will get drafted. They seem to be on the uptick in the NFL recently. For awhile it felt like if a NT was projected in a round you could almost just guess on dropping that by a round on draft day.
It’s because most teams view them as two-down linemen.

I mean we meet with a lot of guys at these places. I don't ever remember a strong correlation between who we meet with at the Senior Bowl and combine and who we drafted. Now our visit list that comes later, I think that is an excellent predictor on who we are targeting. The combine is just a giant net.

I think our first round pick has been a known interview with just a few exceptions in at least the McClay era

The website I looked at doesn't even show the Cowboys meeting with Mazi last year. They did mention Schoon and Overshown though from what I can see. But honestly, you get like 75 formal interviews at the combine. We never have a complete list. Just the guys who blab about it.

If that is the thought process, I hate it because it such a simple way of looking at it. Look at the Philadelphia Bulldogs defense. All of them knew each other but it did not help their defense function better.

Exactly. You draft a guy because he’s the best fit and talent, not because one (or some) of his college teammate buddies are there.

Or even if they were a great duo in school does not mean they will replicate that success with a new scheme/coach. Maybe another player elevated the impact of them both. It is not as simple as assuming because they came from a strong college D that makes it have a better chance of success.

In my opinion it's more of a function of great Dlineman tend to have LBers who look good behind them. That and just a lot of the more talented teams are going to have great prospects at both positions. The other programs will only have a great prospect at one or the other position. So of course you'll see LBers and Dlineman at Michigan, Texas AM, Texas. Just a function of those programs always having talent.

I seriously doubt the team thinks that. Just a stupid throwaway line from Mr I Love You tweeter.

If his medicals are clear he's a no brainer, I'd argue that he's the best pure edge rusher in the class. Turner has a higher ceiling but Latu isn't far off and I think he's better right now.
Turner does not really impress me. Latu does. You can see he has a rush plan.
