So I really fail to see the reason to do this? I mean really, I get that you can do whatever you want since you'll fade into nothingness soon, but what is the rational behind it? You just want to watch the world burn? You hate Americans? Or is there some sort of theory that these people have been wrongfully detained?

The more I see what's going on the more I think this shouldn't be a presidential power anymore. It's being abused and it's apparently very susceptible to being abused. There doesn't appear to be any check to this power.

It is predicated on trusting the person in power and obviously we can't do that anymore.

At the very least there should be a check on presidential pardons, like each should have to be approved by Congress or something.

I agree, seems sort of wrong that a President can take any Federal Criminal and do whatever they want. No one should really be above the law like that.
