Because not playing after any black person is rightfully or wrongfully shot by police will help eradicate racism and intolerance.
 
The only good news here is that it seems like the NHL athletes mostly were fine with playing until the news media started pressuring them and they realized they were in a no win situation.

Funny how the news media never gave 2 shits about hockey before.

I think it's definitely legitimate to wonder if it's wise to cater to people who never cared about you before and won't afterward either. And risk alienating the people who do actually care in the process.
 
I guess I may have end up with no sports at all.

Game 6 of the Stars series starts now. I'm not boycotting. If they had dropped BLM on the ice or anything like that I would have, but they only delayed a couple of games, so I'm okay with that. Am I weak in my principles? I don't think I am. Plus, I'm sports starved, so please don't judge me.
