People in the media keep throwing out that Lebron to LA scenario but I just don’t buy it.

Lebron pretty much has a wide open path to the Finals in the Eastern Conference. A move to the west means that he not only has to deal with the Warriors but the Spurs as well. You also have to factor in the other 2 or 3 50+ win teams the Western Conference usually produces.

I just don’t see him signing up to take a tougher path to the Finals.

I don't think winning a championship is the most important thing to him anymore.

I think while he's in Cleveland, he wants everything done to give him the best chance possible. But after his contract is up, I think he's going to LA to focus on other things and basketball will be secondary.

He'll be forever viewed as a mercenary in my eyes. No all-time great championship-caliber player who was viewed as a leader has ever jumped around as much as this guy while he was still the best player in the league.

I'm sure he'll identify himself with Cleveland when it's all done, but I'll always see him as a front-runner who chased the easiest path.

If he ends up leaving again I’d have to agree with you. His legacy would take a huge hit and he can forget about ever eclipsing Jordan as the GOAT. Hell, Kobe would even be cemented above him in my eyes.

This current generation of NBA stars really make you miss the old days when the best players wanted to compete against each other and not with each other. I wish more of them had the mindset of Russell Westbrook. The guy is the anti-ring chaser. He just wants to compete with the crew given to him.

I get wanting to win a championship but I just don’t see how you can take as much gratification in winning one the way KD won one as opposed to how guys like Dirk and Tim Duncan won theirs.

It’s like when you’re playing video games and you beat it on the easiest level. Does anyone really feel a great deal of accomplishment after beating a game on the kiddie level?

Oh well, I guess this kumbaya generation of NBA stars are completely content cherry-picking championships.
 
The Bulls are flat out idiots.

Lavine/Dunn/7 for Butler would've been a decent deal but giving up the 16 also is a joke. Wouldn't expect anything else from one of the worst run teams in the league though.

Butler complained quite a bit about Hoiberg being too soft and not coaching the team hard enough. A reunion with Thibs is something I'm sure he's looking forward to.

The T-wolves are now one of my must watch teams on league pass.

As for the Bulls, looks like they'll be in next year's lottery.
 
The people on Wikipedia are on their A game.

The Knicks pick hasn't even been announced yet but they've already updated the dude's Wikipedia page saying he's a Knick. Some 18 year old French PG.

The Mavs nab Dennis Smith. I like the pick.

He reminds me of Westbrook.
 
Apparently the Bulls wanted either the 3rd pick or Nets '18 pick from Boston for Butler, Ainge said no to both.

Surprising, but I think it shows what they think of Tatum.

He's better than Mirotic, not to mention a legit 7 feet, Bargnani or Gallinari are probably better comparisons.

I thought there was a drop after the top 6 prospects so of course these fools decided to trade for number 7 before that pick is even on the clock. If the pick would've been Isaac I'd have felt much better about it but with the board how it was I think I'd have gone with Markkanen as well.

I'm not a huge Smith or Monk fan and Markkanen is an elite 3 point shooter at 7 feet.

Either way it's just rearranging deck chairs but hey.

They should all be fired. Clean house. This move has cemented it.
 
The move that truly encapsulates the Bulls organizational philosophy was the fact that they traded the 38th pick, a top 10 pick in the 2nd round, for cash. Bell was actually a guy I really liked, especially as a complement to Markkanen, but there were other nice prospects available too. And of course we all know that you can find legit role players, if not starters at the top of the 2nd, yet these guys trade the pick. For cash.

A rebuilding team who should be mining talent in search for building blocks in every possible way sells the pick. For cash.

About 5-6 years ago the Bulls were praised as one of the smartest organizations in the league with a young up and coming roster. The Cowboys were, well, you know what it was like. It's absolutely mind blowing to me that the Bulls have devolved into one of the worst run organizations in the league while the Cowboys somehow have become one of the most stable, principled organizations in the NFL.
