Bill Simmons podcast, today, July 8, 2014. At the 16 minutes and 25 second mark. "If the Bulls sign Carmelo, they become the best team in the league."

Gordon Hayward got the max from Charlotte, 4 years and $60M+. Utah can match but I'm not sure they will. He's a good young piece to a team but that's a lot of coin.

They would not be better than OKC, LAC, SA...and we'll have to see where Lebron lands.

KJ McDaniels...I know it is summer league, but he was a pet cat of mine that looks like a keeper.

My favorite team is whoever has the best white guy in the league. Maybe that is racist, but I don't care. Love still with Minnesota for the moment?

You should be a Wiz fan. Gortat is big, white, bald and Polish. That's as close to Aryan Nation as it gets.

@ESPNSteinLine: Three-team trade will see Nets acquire Jarrett Jack and Sergey Karasev from Cleveland. Boston gets Marcus Thornton, Tyler Zeller and a first

Cavs believed to get a 2nd out of the deal so they have shed the salary needed to get Lebron. But if they don't get Lebron, that 1st is going to look real nice.

Full court press for Lebron...I hope they get him. They are even courting Ray Allen too. They did not have to give up really anyone of significance either...Zeller is a bench guy, but they did not have to move Waiters or Bennett.

Me too, I want to see him go back there.

Anthony's strengths help Bulls' weaknesses. Bulls' strengths help Anthony's weaknesses.

That's a tweet from one of the primary Bulls beat writers, and he's definitely not a homer, if anything he's overly pessimistic usually. Seems like a very familiar comment, I can't quite place where I heard it before though.

I'm not much of an Anthony fan. I think he is overrated. With that being said he is a perfect fit for the Bulls. The Bulls need a guy who can score and basically do it all on his own. They already have great defense which is the big knock on Anthony. From a talent prospective the two pieces seem to fit really perfectly together.

Interesting, how long have you been a Bulls homer?

I think everyone agrees Anthony is a perfect fit for the Bulls...but most don't believe he elevates them to championship favorites. I think if the Heat stick around and the Pacers resign Stephenson they may still be 3rd in the conference.

I think they need a healthy Rose before you can even consider them a legit championship contender. That's where the real question is though. Will we see a totally healthy Rose ever again? Grant Hill was an absolute stud until he signed with the Magic and injuries set in. He was never the same again.

I've never liked him. Total ball stopper and I've always been of the opinion that he isn't the kind of player that can lead a team to a championship if he is "the guy" on that team (some soft factors like his attitude/body language have always bothered me). I totally agree with what you said though. Makes perfect sense for the Bulls and if Rose is healthy and hasn't lost much, adding Carmelo to that team would be really interesting. The guy can flat out score and he would make the team better for sure.

I agree with both of you with regard to Melo being overrated and a bit one dimensional, and that's why I say the Bulls are the best spot for him, because he's strong where the Bulls are lacking and the Bulls can mask his weaknesses.

I didn't claim the Bulls were championship favorites, just Eastern Conference. I think the Heat are breaking up and Indy looked too vulnerable down the stretch. But the West is just sick.
