I don't want the Mets to go after Ethier, but I do want to see them make a run at Carlos Gonzalez. If D'Arnaud shows to be too brittle to play C, then move him to 1B...Ike can still fetch something.

:lol

Don't touch the head.

yeah. That vision problem killed his numbers for sure. They really didnt know what was going on so he was battling with it longer than he should have. He suffered a concussion in winter ball that I think had something to do with it.

Olt was hit in the head by a pitch again last night. Just having bad luck this year.

BALTIMORE -- The Rangers are set to place ace Yu Darvish on the 15-day disabled list with a strained muscle in his right shoulder.

Texas has not announced who will replace Darvish in the rotation, but it will be either reliever Ross Wolf or Neil Ramirez who will be called up from the Minor Leagues.

The Rangers view this as a "fatigue" issue and still expect Darvish to be ready immediately after the All-Star break. Darvish will not pitch in the All-Star Game this Tuesday at Citi Field.

We keep taking the hits and keep on rolling!!!!

*I hope...

Our injuries have been insane this year. But, at least it hit at the ASB so maybe he won't miss but maybe a couple of starts.

Philly can have Lindblom back.

It started with Jeff Baker suffering a sprained right thumb with an over-enthusiastic teammate while exchanging high-fives. As a joke, somebody put up a sign in the Rangers dugout that said no more handshakes or high fives ... "Just Japanese bows."

The Rangers took it to heart.

"I don't know who wrote that or put it on the [dugout] wall," Andrus said. "But when they did, we all said, 'Why don't we do that?'

"It was cool. Everybody liked it. So we started doing that and we've been playing better. I've never seen a team do that. It's super cool and it's super original."

Rangers, Others Have Inquired On Heath Bell
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [May 24, 2011 at 6:02pm CST]
The Rangers are one of several teams that have recently inquired about Padres closer Heath Bell, according to Scott Miller of CBS Sports. The 19-29 Padres are not interested in dealing Bell yet and the Rangers are simply checking their options, according to Miller.

Bell, who discussed a possible extension with the Padres this spring, is a free agent after the season. He realizes he’s a trade candidate, but says he’d like to stay in San Diego.

"In my own quirky head, I still think something will happen at the end of the year and I'll stay here,” he said. “It's wait-and-see. But I understand the business part. We've got to play well and get some fans in here."

Bell, 33, will lead a substantial number of closers into free agency after the season, as Tim Dierkes explained earlier today. So far, Bell has a 2.12 ERA with nine saves and though his strikeout rate has dropped to 6.4 K/9, his ground ball rate is up to 54.9%.

The Rangers have also made "low-level inquiries" on Pirates closer Joel Hanrahan. Entering today's action, Rangers relievers ranked 29th in baseball in K/9 (6.0) and xFIP (4.61), 28th in baseball in BB/9 (4.7) and ground ball rate (40%) and 24 in baseball in ERA (4.15).

Between that, the deer antler thing and Beltre's head phobia the Rangers have some of the gayest quirks I've ever seen.

Your face is gay.

I agree with the Japanese bow but the Beltre head rub is hilarious.

Wilmer Flores just threw my son a baseball...I predict great things for him.

Jarred Cosart with 2 hits and 0 runs in 8 ip against the streaking Rays in his MLB debut. Future HOF lock.

He was very impressive. If he can consistently be close to what he was tonight, he and Appel make a nice 1-2 combo for the future.

Ayuh. And there's a lame t-shirt for every one of them.

Jealous much...

Have to agree. I would never buy one of the stupid claw shirts.
