Only way that happens is if they can move some contracts.... so im in the pipe dream company...

We switched to Kevin Long, but since we got Alderson the philosophy for the entire organization has been to work counts and draw walks of get in good hitters counts. It was frustrating at first, but Murphy is the embodiment of what they want...and it is fun to watch now.

Alderson is great. I was sad when the Mets hired him.

They already have 2 high end starters. I'm assuming they could better spend that kind of money.

Maybe so but JD is always looking for pitching and he has had his favorites (Hamels being one of them). I will go ahead and root for it because I dont have to pay the bills or worry about a budget, though. Full well knowing that its a pipe dream as well.
 
This is pretty great playoff baseball...cold, wind swirling...good stuff.
 
Harvey was an ace tonight...the innings thing annoyed me, but it humbled him and I like where he is coming from now.
 
Cubs said they were real happy they got Harvey to use his secondary pitches and not rely on the fastball so much. They could have simply just said Harvey buttfucked them, but that's cool. Enjoy Thor's hammer up your ass tonight.

The games have been close and well played. The value of power pitchers in cold weather always seem to show up this time of year. Also, the veteran bats vs the young bats have been a big advantage...mostly because we seem to be working the counts and adding to the pitch count. Murphy is just on fire right now...I fear Schwarber the most from the Cubs now.
 
Right now, the Mets look like the best team in the playoffs.

The team with best pitching usually wins at this time of year, and the Mets pitching has been excellent.
