Don't see that happening. Usually in stories the knight that goes off to slay the dragon is emboldened by the fact that he gets the princess if he manages to defeat the beast. In this case the princess is the World Series title and they badly want to deflower that bitch in the tower. They still have to fight their way up those tower stairs and take on some more nasty creatures along the way but they will be up for the battle.

Don't blame you. All of his little quirks and eccentricities are great as far as I'm concerned because of what this ball club has achieved in his first season with the team, but I would probably hate him if he were managing any team that stood in the Cubs way right now.

The flag was a reference to the Gonzales battle flag with the cannon. Battle of Texas and all that. I don't think it was a "we're in first, come and get it" deal.
 
I guess I am going Jays from here. I pull for the representative of the league my team's in, unless it's a big rival. Just the way I was raised. :unsure

It was used in conjuction with the anniversary but we arent dumb. That was meant as a rallying cry just as the slogan was 180 years ago. Trolling was justified.

More than any other sport, baseball has a lot of unwritten rules.

I don't have a problem with what he did. This isn't golf nor has baseball ever been considered the gentleman's game. They should be able to show emotion and showboat a bit like they do in football and basketball.

It's not a big deal.

With that said, I hope Bautista takes a ball to the wrist and breaks it. :unsure
 
You know how you keep him from doing that? Don't throw a god damn meatball. Baseball players are fags sometimes. I liked how the Mets just went about business after the Utley slide. Yeah, the fans did some stuff, but nothing that was unreasonable.
 
Listening to Mike & Mike this morning, they were talking about the bat flip. Joe Carter and some others called in, both pitchers and position players. They pretty much all agreed that there was nothing wrong with it. It's not like he stared in to the Rangers dugout, stared down the pitcher, or was showboating while rounding the bases. Also said things like that are more accepted during the playoffs. Bigger stage, more at stake, higher emotions, etc... Rob Dibble said he didn't see anything wrong with it, and he thought the pitcher was the one who was in the wrong for the benches clearing, trying to make something out of nothing. Nothing was done to show him up, and he was only upset because he was beaten in a big spot.

Outstanding. He should get a lot of mileage out of that signature move on the Wiffle Ball field growing up. Kid has a pretty sweet lefty swing too.

I am assuming the Mets win tonight, which means I too will be rooting for the Cubs.

Now that the Rangers are out, I don't even care in the AL anymore. Although I'd prefer Toronto to lose, because Fuck Joe Carter.

That was a pretty slick play, taking 3rd on the walk. I wonder if that's the first time anybody has went first to third on a walk when there was no wild pitch or passed ball.

It was a great play and now he follows it up with a solo shot in his next ab. Series MVP by far.
