MLB Chatter Thread

I was listening to the 9th inning in the car with my wife who has no interest in sports at all. The play by play man mentioned that getting David Freese as the final out exorcised some demons, and she made the mistake of asking what he meant. She proceeded to kindly sit through a 20 minute condensed history of the past 6 years of Texas Rangers baseball history with particular attention paid to the 2011 WS and the improbable 2015 comeback.

I don't think she will ever ask me about baseball again.

I didn't even know it was Freese. That makes it even better.

As long as there are no sweeps I have tickets for game 4 against Toronto. I don't expect to win this series and Toronto my close us out n that game but it's still going to be fun.

That's what she said.

Going back...I realize I posted basically the same thing twice about Harvey. My.bad.

But even better is dominating in fantasy. Gettin' paid!

:hattip

Props. I'll pay you via LeagueSafe within the next day or two. You look to be the favorite heading into next season too with the keepers you have but I feel like I have a chance to challenge you with what I'll be keeping.

I hate what the Harvey situation has done to our playoff rotation...since he has to go game 4 to conserve work Syndergaard has to start game 2 on the road...where he has about a 2 run higher ERA. Tough to be on the road across the country for your first playoff start.

Harvey had more recovery time than most...I get listening to your doctor, but the Mets seemed blindsided by this. They should have clarified before the season, but I hate that Boras sat on that info.

Boras is awful for the sport.

Clever burn, albeit dubious for the Texas Rangers to identify with the Mexican Army.

Sorry I wasn't here to take my medicine a few weeks back. Had some real life shit going on.

We are too busy celebrating our first postseason game after years of wandering in the wilderness to be mad though. Everything past this game will be gravy to me.

We've got last year's batting champ, this year's potential Cy Young and ROY, a top notch farm system, and are operating at about half the payroll of the team that took all 162 to clinch. The next few years should be fun with a genuine rivalry.

Great season for you guys and yes this rivalry shouldn't be as lopsided going forward. Really can't explain how the Rangers won against the Astros like they did except with Rons saying: That's the way baseball go. It does look bright for both teams going forward but for now we will keep the silver boot.

It's going to be a really fun rivalry to watch, and it looks like it will be between the Astros and Rangers for the division for quite a few years to come. As long as the Mariners, Angels and A's don't win it for the next decade I will be okay with that.

Considering 4 of my keepers are 25ish years old, I like my chances for a long time. Just gotta draft smart to build around them.

Honestly, your keeper situation kept me from making our deal for a few days. Didn't like the idea of giving Stanton to a team that has the players you did. But in win-now mode, you gotta put that stuff away and get the deal done. It worked and now we both look good going forward.

Keep the AL West title in Texas where it belongs.
