LOL.
We have to hope so because we are stuck with it.

If anyone can overcome a season ending injury, it's someone with a body type like Fielder

Tony Gwynn died today at the age of 54. What a shame, but he was already a big man as a player and he definitely let himself go afterwards. What a great hitter.
Of all the numbers that Tony Gwynn accumulated the one that stands out to me is the number of strikeouts in his 20 years. Only 434. That is just crazy. Chris Davis with the Rangers seemed to have that in one year.
The man was a machine at the plate.

8ip, 2er, 12kHope the Astros didn't ruin his trade value.
Honestly, if that talent is so close to coming up why not just pay him? I understand the philosophy but you gotta pay some people of you want to contend and I completely agree with not getting someone as good in the deal.I'm thinking the same thing with Samardzija. They don't want to give him 6 years for $100M+ and I don't really blame them. They're going to have to get serious about trying to contend soon though with the prospects that should be ready by this time next year. Pitching is what they'll lack to really make a run at anything. He could be a rotation anchor but that's a big contract so it's a risk. Everyone seems to be implying that he'll fetch a pretty good haul in trade but even if they get a touted pitching prospect out of it the odds of him even being as good as Samardzija aren't overly strong. And when are they going to be ready? I don't see Baltimore giving up someone like Gausman because he's helping them right now. Probably would be a recent high draft pick that needs a couple years in the minors.
Kind of frustrating, but if they get lucky and get a SP prospect than can pan out into a #2 type starter it will be a win. Crapshoot though.
Hope the Astros didn't ruin his trade value.
Ayuh. It was always interesting to follow the batting title race between him and Boggs during the last month of the season.
???
One was in the AL and one was in NL so they were never going for the batting title against eachother.
Missed his 5th one on Friday but Gallo also homered on Saturday for #6 and 27th on the season.
