Well that was his weakness when they acquired him so they know what they were getting. They also knew the warts that is Garcia and yet they still give him that kind of role?
 


I actually like this rule change. No robo-umps and the challenges are quick. So far they also seem to be very accurate. I like it. I think it's a good compromise between having robo-umps and keeping the game true to its origin.

Robo umps would be better but this is good and better than nothing.
 
So will this eventually be the end of catchers framing the ball? What's the point if the robot is going to know the truth anyway.

Frankly it's become irritating me to see catchers do this on almost every pitch now, even ones that aren't even close.

As a guy that umped for quite a few years I can tell you that personally a catcher framing the ball has zero effect on what a pitch is called. A good ump can see the ball when it crosses the plate, not where the catcher's glove ends up.

That's been a thing for years. Jhoan Duran's entrance is the best. Not so much the music but the atmosphere.
