MLB Chatter Thread

Yeah, I don't get the consternation over this. One player rarely makes that huge a difference anyway, unless he's a great pitcher that puts you over the top.

I guess it's just to dunk on the Yankees, which I'm all in favor of.

I'm not saying the Yankees should have signed him to that bloated contract, I'm just saying it's weird to not draw the line at the insane money and insane years, but instead draw the line at a suite at the stadium.

Damn. The Cubs got Tucker.

Terrible.

What's the point of wanting to own a sports team if you're not willing to pay to both acquire and keep great players?

It's too bad the Rockets and Astros can't swap owners.

Yeah. I couldn't believe the return on the trade but it's the Asstros so glad it worked out.

Why not wait until the trade deadline? You are bound to get something way better than this.

Yeah, it's a bad trade no matter how you slice it.

You gotta get away more than that for a 5 tool player.

Did they even make him a long-term offer? If they did and he rejected it, then I can understand why they moved him.

No.... That's the worst part.

I mean, if you don't want to go over 150 for anyone, then you can say goodbye to Bregman and most certainly to Yordan Alvarez.

Again, what's the point in owning a team if you aren't going to pay to compete?

Think it was a case of too many pie leafs to pay.

I think they know who they want to pay and Tucker was on the bottom of the list.

Tucker should have been #2 only behind Alvarez.

I'm not sure who else they'd put in front of him.

Well #2 now. They signed the little shit and you just can't get yourself in a pinch before you deal with Alvarez.

I just can't see them signing Alvarez.

He's what? A top 5 hitter and one of the most dangerous post season hitters to boot?

And he's only 27?

That guy is gonna command 350-400 easily.

I can't see Jim Crane paying that.

Well preparing for that is the only reason I see for not signing Bregman and Tucker.

:lol at ending the conversation. They have been pretty adamant about him not being available.
