My first thought, was this another Yankee who didn't know how many outs there were?

If I live to be a hundred, I'll never understand what he was thinking. He has to know about the infield fly rule by now. Has to.
What does the infield fly rule have to do with it? There was none.

Every kid in little league knows you go back to the bag on a pop up with less than two outs. And I'd wager he knew there was less than two outs. He was still watching the fielder, and as soon as he saw he was throwing the ball, tried to get back. He was just being an idiot, and didn't think the guy would throw it and got burned.

@NoDak I think you are correct. Im going to like this guy.

Everything. There were less than two outs. You don't think the umps called the IFR on that popup?

Well yes. If he thought there were two outs, he would've started running on contact.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.

No, I don't. In fact, I know they didn't. Because there was not one to be called.

If you look closely, it shows that he was the only guy on base at the time. And, when they show the other angle, there was no runner standing on 2nd base while the pop up was in the air. He was the only runner on base.

For an infield fly to be called, there has to be a runner on first AND second with less than two outs.

Right. I was swayed by the Yankee announcer saying Chisolm would be automatically out, but only if the 2B dropped the ball on purpose.

With the Phillies leading 5-4 after a late rally, Duran emerged from the home bullpen for his first save opportunity with his new team. And the production crew at the ballpark had the same graphics, lights, and music that the Twins used for Duran appearances at Target Field over the last four years (which presumably means the Twins sent those over as a courtesy).

Duran proceeded to nail down the save on just four pitches, all of which were "splinkers" at 98-100 miles per hour.

@Genghis Khan, gotta love when Duran's 'offspeed' pitches hit 100mph.

So, the Twins gave up a late lead to lose to the Indians. Guess I'd better get used to this.

I'm still in shock they instantly went from one of the best bullpens in baseball to the worst in a matter of hours. Trading away five relievers. FOUR of which they had team control of for multiple seasons.

Amazing.

Unacceptable.

So that Chargers-looking team is the Red Sox? :doh

They had our number this year and glad that we are done with them. If we make the playoffs I really dont want to see them.

Over/under on the number of times in the series Yankees get doubled off because they forgot how many outs there were?

At least the Yankees will miss deGrom. You get Nate, though. He has pitched better so not sure how much of a consolation that is.

Phillies will probably get back to back games of Kelly and deGrom. Just need the phillies to keep their ball groping ways in philly.
