Okay. I agree that isn't much but to me he is still a flyer but the pay makes it a lot more attractive if you are correct.
My quote was from rotoworld, they tend to get these things right.

No doubt Manziel is limited, but you just have to trust that his free wheeling can be harnessed and he goes through his reads like a QB is supposed to. Romo has been excellent staying within himself and running the offense, but playground Tony was effective too. He started out much more playground than disciplined at the beginning of his career too, so players can be taught. Maybe Manziel can be disciplined enough to let the offense play out, then get all JFF in the place.
I did not expect much from Romo or the team this year, so part of my love for Manziel was just the shot in the arm he would have brought the franchise. Now he would be more of an experiment that maybe just pays off.

The problem I see with all that is that I don't trust Manziel to have the maturity or intelligence to drive him to become what Romo has worked hard to become. Romo was always a mature, stable person.
This is why stories like this and the Vegas one are so troubling with regard to trusting Manziel. He has demonstrated multiple times an alarming lack of maturity. And maturity is something he desperatelyneeds if he is going to become the player people are hoping he can be.

You sound pretty biased.

He has to be broken down...he comes from being the biggest star, Heisman, Johnny Football...while Romo was undrafted from E. ILL. Romo had to put in that extra effort just to make a roster, while JFF feels entitled. He will either get it or won't.
That's true but it is a big risk.
As a first rounder...sure, that is a big risk...as a 3rd or 4th, not really.
Gamble on players? Not the QB position thought, we have done nothing with draft picks in regards to that position.Godd ol Jerry has said this many times...

I think there's a big difference between having a Rod Marinelli to help out a LBer and the clowns we have to develop QBs. If Sean Payton wanted to take a flyer on Manziel it would make sense. Dallas just doesn't have the coaching.
That is true.
Interesting point, but I counter that Linehan has reportedly been the first coach to get on Romo's case and actually coach him since Bill. I like the results he's had with Tony and I wouldn't mind letting him try to coach another QB.
