I'm no Mel Kiper but I just don't know that Manziel is going to be even an average NFL QB. If he has the ability to be elite I could look past his Johnny Celebrity bullshit, but right now he's a backup QB who I'd like to see get punched in the face by someone much bigger and tougher than him.

And an untested unproven backup at that. The kid has 2 years of instinct reaction football in college and is just a big question mark. I have no idea if he even saw playing time in preseason.

I'm ok with mixing in some projects on a good team. We have McClain working out here. Manziel has done absolutely nothing and I doubt he will.

McClain was a rock solid player who projected as a long term starter coming out. He was a low risk at a position of need.
Manziel is a known retard with questionable projection. It would take picks to get him. He could potentially be the face of the franchise eventually. If we decide to lean on him he could set is back a few years once he flunks out.
Plus I do not like the player. I want a QB with a relatively clean past. QB is the wrong position to be taking rebels.
