That's one of the reasons I was asking, before I get too far down the rabbit hole with one brand I wanted to make sure that brand was good to dive into purchasing all the accessories and stuff. I loved the Ryobi trimmer I got last year, but, it was replacing like a 20 year old gas trimmer that would never start, so, anything made in the last half decade that actually started was probably gonna seem awesome.

Yeah, I got their 40v trimmer - the brushless motor one - and it seems pretty awesome to me. I only have like a third of an acre but it tears through it compared to what I'm used to, and doesn't come close to running down the battery.

They’ve come a long way since they first came out. I personally like Milwaukee and Rigid battery powered stuff myself, more so because of overall battery life and supposed steel gears vs the plastic gears of the other brands. Everyone has their pick though. But I’ve definitely seen an uptick of cabinet guys and trim guys using Ryobi over the last couple years.
 
I bought a Ridgid 12” sliding compound mitre saw back in 2020 and never registered it for the lifetime warranty.

I’m currently building a huge entertainment center/bookcase for a client and noticed I was getting some wobble in my blade. After switching out the blade with several different brands, the problem persisted.

I called Ridgid to ask what my options were, and the dick pretty much told me it would cost more than I paid for the saw originally to repair it.

I was pretty pissed, so I left a review.

This was Tuesday of last week. I just got an email from them this morning asking for my address so they can ship me a brand new saw free of charge.

Pretty awesome tool company.

Not surprised. The competition is fierce in that space…EVERYONE is making battery powered tools these days. Harbor Freight used to have tools that even the biggest dipshit homeowner wouldn’t use because they wouldn’t make it thru a simple DIY project. They have a couple lines now that I’d put against the Milwaukee and Rigid shit we use everyday, 10-12 hours a day. If there’s any difference it’s probably in the battery life for the HF shit. It tends to be a tad less than Milwaukee/Rigid/Metabo etc.

I’ve bought some harbor freight shit in a pinch here and there. They’ve come a long way in the last 5-7 years.
 
Yeah, some of their Hercules stuff isn't too bad.
 
I'm going to buy a Ryobi battery-powered lawnmower soon.
