Greg Hardy better appeal

He will lose a million dollars. Not even the biggest star in the NFL is willing to just drop a million because "they just don't want to play". It's a stupid idea and not even worth discussing really.

Ricky Williams was willing to do that, but Greg Hardy is absolutely not that guy. He's flawed, but the man is a competitor.

It'll actually be more than that, is my guess. Lot's of his money is tied into incentives. If he falls just short of any of them, that extra 1 or 2 games he might have played after an appeal might have gotten him there.

Either way, I'm fine with this. Sucks to lose him for this specific 4 game stretch but I'd rather do it now than the appeal come back favorable to the league and him be forced to serve 4 games down the stretch.

How would he be more likely to reach his incentives by playing in 4 less games?

Less risk of injury early in the season.

If I had to guess I think Hardy's just happy to quit while he's ahead. I'm guessing he's had lawyers and agents tell him he'll be okay every step of the way.

Then he got fake convicted
Then he got benched for a year
Then he got cut
Then he got suspended for 10 games.

I wonder if having his suspension reduced is good enough, and he doesn't want to endanger his win.

Nah, he just doesn't want to play.

That's the most logical reason because of injury and stuff.

I think it is about his next contract

I think he just wants to be done with it, let sleeping dogs lie and whatnot...
