Former exotic dancer accuses Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones of sexual assault

Is Texas a community property state? If so, maybe June Jones will divorce Jerry and be awarded 51% control of the Cowboys... then, just stick it to ol Jer, she does an end around and hires a general manager.

It is, but he's been doing this shit for a long time and she's put up with it to keep the family and its fortune together.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is being sued by a woman who says he sexually assaulted her.

Jana Weckerly, a former exotic dancer, filed a suit in Dallas County District Court on Monday alleging Jones assaulted her in 2009. Read the PDF of the entire lawsuit here. (Warning: Graphic content.)

Jones denied the allegations in a statement from his lawyer to Pro Football Talk.

“These allegations are completely false,” Levi McCathern, Jones' lawyer, said in the statement. “The legal complaint is unsupported by facts or evidence of any kind. This is nothing more than an attempt to embarrass and extort Jerry Jones. This is a shakedown by a lawyer who is a solo practitioner just trying to make a name for himself. The alleged incidents would have been more than five years old.

“We intend to vigorously contest this complaint and expect it will be shown for what it is – a money grab. Due to the seriousness of these baseless allegations, we have also involved law enforcement.”

Weckerly's lawyer told the Dallas Morning News that his client is still dealing with "trauma" from the alleged incident.

The suit also claims that Jones and the Cowboys conspired to cover up the assault. Weckerly seeks more than $1 million in damages.

Weckerly's lawyer sent a press release to several media outlets last week, claiming Weckerly was the person who took the photos of Jones posing with strippers. The pictures were taken in 2009 and recently leaked. Jones said the photos were "misrepresented."

As a technical matter there is nothing to be punished for yet. There are allegations but nothing else. Whether they are true is the question to be resolved before any punishment can be administered.

Maybe...but the joke of a Commissioner wants to "clean" up the image of the NFL, but buries NFL players at the drop of a hat....so why do owners get preferential treatment?

Bottom line...no, Jones hasn't been found guilty of a crime, but can anyone honestly say that having those kinds of pics show up in public is good for the suddenly image conscious NFL?
 
Funny how this story got buried because it just happened to come out at the same time as the Rice stuff.

Let's be realistic. The whole reason Goodell is on the hot seat is because he tried to protect the Ravens by only suspending Rice 2 games.

Funny how he came out with a strict policy AFTER the public uproar.

Even without the video, Goodell KNEW that Rice punched his fiancee in the face and knocked her out. Rice told him as much.

Goodell interviewed Janay with Ray sitting right next to her. Even the most rookie cop knows to separate the individuals in domestic violence cases.

Goodell interviewed them side by side before making his ruling. That has been widely reported.

You do realize he appointed himself as "sheriff." In no other major sports league (MLB, NHL, NBA) does the commissioner actually handle the player discipline issues.
