Not necessarily....but I find it laughable Goodell has no concerns about calling players out, but Jones hasn't been mentioned once- and we haven't even talked about one of the head officials partying on the PT Barnum Express Bus with strippers and booze. So, I guess Goodell is OK with that "image" too, huh?
 
These pictures of Jerry would have been a bigger embarrassment to the NFL if Jones wasn't already such a joke.

But if this charge has legs and sticks, the Commish can do quite a bit. Suspending Jones for six games would send a huge message about how seriously the NFL values its image.

Suspending an owner for six games is a joke, and does nothing but perform a little lip service to the uninformed. You want to make a statement that has some weight behind it? Suspend them for an entire league year, barring them from all offseason activities, to include free agency and the draft. Six games during the season does what, not allow them in to their luxury box for a few games? Big deal.

While we'd all love to see Jones get Steinbrennered, I couldn't see that happening short of a criminal indictment and conviction. A six game suspension from all Cowboys business to an attention hound like Jones amounts to major punishment.

It serves no purpose other than bruising his ego. And even that is no big deal. He's not loosing any money during the suspension, like a player does. And he and the team is suffering no consequences, business wise. It's not like there are a whole lot of important roster moves that shape a team's future are done during the season. Like I said, a waste of time and nothing but lip service.

I don't think it would be a waste of time at all, and if anyone needs his ego bruised it's Jones.

It would be more humiliating to Jones than any other owner, and the press coverage with that picture televised again and again would be a clear signal for all sports owners about what you absolutely should not get caught doing.

The best part would be how the team would run without a hitch with him gone. Roster churn would happen just fine without the "GM" and the HC wouldn't have to worry about that idiot for six stress-free weeks.

If he by some miracle was actually pulled into a criminal case and found guilty as a result, I think a major suspension would absolutely be in order.

It would be bigger news if an owner with a highly respected public image were involved.

This is par for the course for Jerry; a typical Wednesday night. Therefore, this will barely make waves.
 
You seriously believe that if Jones were "suspended" for six weeks, that he wouldn't still be running the team from behind the scenes? There is no possible way the league could keep tabs on him 24/7 to make sure Stephen and others weren't talking to him about the day to day operation. They gonna bug his house when his son comes over to visit? They can't hardly control what's discussed at the dinner table. The only thing to change would be him grabbing TV time during the games. So, yeah... Waste of time.

On the other hand, if he wasn't present in the war room during draft, it would be pretty tough for him to pull strings on the fly. Sure, he could talk to Stephen and the others about the general direction he wants to go, but the draft is a lot of different moving parts once it starts. Nothing he could do without being in the room. And it would be simple enough for the league to have somebody in the room to ensure they weren't talking to him on the phone.

As far as being humiliating, or ego bruising... Pffft. There is nobody in the league as resilient as Jerry when it comes to bad publicity. Hell, he's even said himself there is no such thing as bad publicity. As long as they are talking about you, you're ahead of the game.
 
If there was a crime committed I would be the first to say crucify Jerry Jones but the fact is at this point there is an individual who is crying wolf 5 years after the alleged fact. This is still an allegation so as sorry as what we think Jones is there is still a fairness and objective issue to be dealt with in the due process system. To this point this is simply a hate sentiment crying for a pound of flesh. I understand how despicable he is to some but let the issue be resolved in the same manner that any other allegation is afforded.
 
Jerry Jones' attorneys argue assault claim was filed too late

Attorneys for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones argue than Oklahoma woman waited too long to file a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault.

State District Judge Dale Tillery did not immediately rule Friday on whether a Texas statute of limitations prevents Jana Weckerly’s lawsuit from proceeding.

Weckerly’s attorney, Thomas Bowers, argued that she was paid hush money for at least four years after the alleged 2009 assault, creating a conspiracy to silence her that remained active.

But Levi McCathern, one of Jones’ attorneys, denied any payments were made and said that even if they were, Weckerly wasn’t under any pressure to take them.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for Oct. 16. Weckerly is seeking damages of more than $1 million.

Two hearing scheduled for today in a lawsuit pitting former stripper Jana Weckerly against Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones have been canceled after the case was settled “per mediator,” according to a note posted on the Dallas County website.

The Ardmore, Okla., woman’s lawsuit accused Jones of sexually assaulting her at a local hotel in 2009.

Messages have been left for Levi McCathern II, the attorney representing the Cowboys and Jones, and Thomas Bowers, Weckerly’s attorney. We will update if and when they respond. But for now, at least, terms of the settlement have not been made public. The 27-year-old Weckerly had been seeking more than $1 million in damages.

The attorneys were to meet in court today to argue over McCathern’s motion to dismiss the suit. Jones’ attorney, who has denied Weckerly’s allegations from the beginning, filed documents last week trying to get the case thrown out. Jones’ latest filing said Weckerly’s suit should have been “time-barred by the applicable statutes of limitations.” The motion to dismiss notes that Weckerly claims the assault took place in June 2009, but she waited until September 2014 to file suit.

McCathern has called the lawsuit nothing short of extortion, and one of the hearings scheduled for today involved a motion for sanctions against Weckerly for filing the “frivolous pleading for the purpose of harassment.” Weckerly’s attorney had maintained she was paid off by Jones and the Cowboys to keep quiet about the alleged event.

I'm not surprised that the suit was settled. There's no way that Jerry would want to sit and discuss what happened that night while under oath.
 
You gotta love 2014. You can suck off a billionaire and get paid in the neighborhood of $150,000-1,000,000 five years later.

The lawsuit pitting Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones against a former stripper from Oklahoma is no more.

A note posted on the Dallas County website Thursday said two scheduled hearings in case — Jana Weckerly’s suit accused Jones of sexually assaulting her at a local hotel in 2009 — had been canceled after the case was settled “per mediator.” But attorneys for Weckerly and Jones later clarified that the suit was dismissed by the judge.

“We are pleased with the Court’s Judgment against Ms. Weckerly,” Levi McCathern II, the attorney representing the Cowboys and Jones, said in a brief statement sent to The Dallas Morning News. “Ms. Weckerly’s allegations were false. This case is over.”

Thomas Bowers, Weckerly’s attorney, said he and his client “do not contest the Judgment as entered by the Court. Neither Jerry Jones nor the Cowboys organization has paid us any money.”

The 27-year-old Weckerly of Ardmore, Okla., had been seeking more than $1 million in damages.

Yeah I thought maybe she got some go away money at most. Essentially sometimes it's cheaper to pay a settlement then it is to pay your attorney.

Turns out the case was just dismissed instead which is pretty simple when dealing with a statute of limitations. I wonder what the argument in response to the motion to dismiss was.

Absolutely. I guess the reports were wrong though.
 
I wonder how Charlotte takes all of this. Her husband, already into his 70's, (though the pictures happened a bit before then) is still out f'in around with women half his age. Do you guys think she's GILFing it up, doing her own thing as well? Or is she sated by the fact that he'll be dead soon?

(These are the things I wonder....:unsure)
