Defensive Coordinator Candidates

Wait for Leonhard. Hopefully, the head coaching jobs all get filled up and Joseph stays with Broncos. Leonhard would be the exact opposite of Eberflus. He's not going to be stubborn and will adapt week to week and even drive to drive. He's a modern day thinker which we need. He'd change coverages, disguise coverages, pressure timing, sim pressure, change match ups, etc.

Parker is the backup and is anybody else really interviewing him?

And this Bullen dude from Giants? See ya Whitecotton. I'd take Bullen and our DL coach.

Also sounds like Ulbrich is staying in Atlanta with Stefanski as HC, hopefully things will start moving a bit now.
Yeah no reason to move on there .. Atlanta's defense wasn’t terrible ….unlike Baltimore who fired Harbaugh but their defense was awful ..I’d see a move made there once B-more signs a new HC

Given where things are at here's how I'd rank the guys out there:

1. Jim Leonhard
2. Christian Parker
3. Jonathan Gannon
4. Raheem Morris
5. Al Harris

I assume Flores and Schwartz are not realistic but obviously they'd be at the top of the list if they somehow shake loose.

I have no real interest in Jones, the guy has no track record of success beyond the few years he's shared with Flores.

Sean McDermott goes to the top of the list with Flores and Schwartz.

It's interesting because Buffalo is now probably the most desirable job on the market, which will probably slow things down even more now.

I didn't see that one coming.

I wonder if Schotty will be leery of a “HC in waiting” situation and opt instead for the longtime assistant path.

Not to appropriate the meddling, but this is an instance when the GM/Owner could, and should, overrule that feeling. However, I think it is a very slim chance that he would even interview for the DC position here.

I wonder if he will want to be a DC somewhere this year or if he will wait for a HC opportunity. I mean he has been pretty successful as a head coach.
I'd definitely hire him as HC over some of these lame names out there.

I would take him in a heartbeat. Not sure why Booze is sour on him, unless he is just being cantankerous this morning.

Yea Buffalo has had good defenses for the most part since he's been there and he was an excellent DC prior to being a HC.

I don't think you can blame HC's too much for their side of the ball stagnating relative to their potential as coordinators once they're fired, especially over such a long period of time.

And he doesn’t have Bruce Smith, Shane Conlan, and Cornelius Bennett

He’d fit right in here

It's coming down to these 4 guys.

Jones
Parker
Gannon
Leonhard

They interviewed way more guys than usual. Didn't interview Flores or Schwartz, but maybe were rebuffed. Who knows?

Will they wait for Leonhard or pull the trigger on one of these other 3 guys later this week? Be dumb not to wait and see what's up. Nobody banging the door down for the 3.
