DCC Appreciation Thread...

Hard to know when they don’t tell us. Family and ‘friends’ can get ravenous around money. I can absolutely see it as a catalyst for arguing, jealousy, and bitterness among the people in her life. Sad to see it happen, whatever it did.

But you have $50 million. Just disappear. Or hire someone to kill them. Either way.

Same, for my own computer. In school when I touched a PC for the first time it was DOS 1.x.

Yeah, I'm geezing
What PC would that have been?

When I was in junior high, if we finished our work early we'd get to go play on the Apple IIs, usually trying to write games.

Early edition IBM PC. You had to load the DOS floppy first, load DOS into memory, then eject it and use a storage floppy afterwards. This was pre-hard disk, like 1981.

Mine was only a couple of years after that.

And I know when you say, "pre-hard disk", you mean the 3.5 with the hard shell as opposed to the 5" actual floppies. :lol

Multiple 5.25 inch floppies, but the PC only had one 5.25 floppy drive. Next year we got a PC with two 5.25 drives, which was huge because you could run DOS from one straight up and run whatever you wanted from the second. This was like 1981-82

Each time an improvement, like 3.5 drives, came out, it was like another limb being unbound. When I at last got a 10MB hard disk in 1988 it felt like Christmas time.
