Don't know why it sticks in my head, but I always remember a Sport or Inside Sport or something magazine a year or two after that talking about how great and underrated Anderson was.

That game is one of the great uniform matchups of all time, too.

This was the famous EmmittZone cover from SI where they included frame-by-frame photos of Irvin's big contested catch shown in that highlight. Favre made a game of it, but the Cowboys OL and stars proved too much. Deion took away his half of the field, forcing some bad throws to Larry Brown-- a preview of the Superbowl.
 
I think actually criminally underrated in history.


He really is.

I think part of it is that he mostly played at the tail end of an era before the rules changed to help offenses be dominant.

So when you look at his numbers in a more modern context they don't jump out, but among his contemporaries there was almost no one better.
