College Football Gameday Chatter

Outside of 1 or 2 runs he did very little.

Yea because one of the best run defenses with a massive talent advantage was selling out to stop him and he was breaking 2-3 tackles to get 3 yards.

I watched this team all year, their QB is a pure bus driver, it's not a coincidence he had one of his better games of the year despite playing one of the best teams they've played.

There's a reason Barkley barely averaged 4 YPC over 5 years with the Giants then went for 2000 as soon as he went to a good team.

Don't really see how anybody can argue that this was some sort of damning performance by Jeanty.

Penn St. has a top 10 run defense in the country, have a very obviously massive talent advantage over Boise just about everywhere, were clearly selling out to stop Jeanty to the detriment of their pass defense, and he still put up 100+ on 4ish YPC with another 20 receiving yards.

They did a great job against him and obviously bottled him up, but you'd expect that given the talent disparity and the early lead they jumped out to.

Damning no. I think he did really well with what he had for holes. He still showed a ton of break tackle ability. Sometimes it took 3 or 4 guys before Jeanty would get tackled. You could see that amazing balance and ability to shed tackles. Ultimately a RB still needs good blocking. They can't do it all on their own.

If anything was bad it was the 2 fumbles.

That's fair, I'm just saying I don't think this game changes anything in terms of the evaluation and his draft standing.

He only had 2 fumbles all year coming into the game so I don't think it's much of an issue.

Yeah it was more weird than anything. They were so close together too.

Penn St. is so lucky they got on this side of the bracket, if they were on the other side I bet they'd be out in the QF.

And yes I think they'd have lost to Arizona St., but as it is they could easily make the final with either Notre Dame or Georgia without a QB.

But then the hammer will drop in the final.

How do you see them holding up against Texas tomorrow?

30 more hard punishing carries. He'll be sore af tomorrow.

I mean the good news is most of his hits this year were against less punishing weaker players. And he won't be having anymore 30 carry games.

Boise State is just a far inferior team. Put Jeanty on Ohio State or Oregon and he probably beats the shit out of Penn State.

How is the Texas run defense? Should be an entertaining game. But another one of these way less talented teams against a team with a bunch of future NFL players.

The problem with the college playoffs is that all the best teams are in the Big Ten and SEC. So you get these weak teams with byes like Arizona State and Boise State with byes going against teams with lots of NFL talent in Penn State and Texas. And then you have Ohio State stocked with talent playing damn Oregon also stocked with talent. By far the game I look forward to most thos round.

Time for the triple header! :towel

Ok, control Skattebo and we win by 2 scores. If he gets going, the game will end up being uncomfortably close.

Beautiful.

Good start defensively.

How the hell did he not block that?!!!!

And because he didn't get the easiest punt block he'll ever have in his life, he gets a penalty for running into the kicker!

Fucking idiot!

Does Joe Tessitore make anyone else want to take an ice pick to their ears? :ballpunch

How the hell do you alligator arm a punt block because you're scared to hit in the stomach by the ball?

:doh

Golden isn't slow at all, but he's probably the slowest WR of that super fast WR corps and I think if that ball goes to anyone else, it's a TD. :lol

And there's a TD to Moore!

What a start! :towel

It took them two plays to score?

Tsk. Texas is gonna need to get their offense on track.

Feh.

Keep your eyes on Collin Simmons.

He's got a shot to be the new Abdul Carter next year.
