College Football Gameday Chatter

Franklin is what I call an insecure head coach.

Not about his job security, but more his standing.

Yeah, I think that's exactly what he is.

And those types only get more insecure with each failure and he's been racking up a lot of those.

It's mind-boggling.

I like this Penn State team but imagine being an actual fan?

They've got to be feeling like we did during the Garrett years.

Yeah I'm not a Penn State fan but I'm a fan of a lot of the talent they have on the team. But you have 2 badass RBs and on third and 1 you're throwing the ball down field. You could have about closed the game out on that drive, but hey let's toss it around like we are playing a team with more talent.

This would be like the 2016 team fucking around with some 4-10 team and barely winning, which I'm sure happened that year.

It's senseless.

He may just be one of those guys like Garrett who just are incapable of learning from their mistakes or ever realizing where they went wrong and why.

I don't think it's a coincidence that you usually see it with offensive guys, they just can't help themselves when it comes to pulling out their little cutesy pet plays to show everyone how smart they are.

Right.... It's always the offensive guys.

Penn St. is so lucky they got on this side of the bracket, if they were on the other side I bet they'd be out in the QF.

And yes I think they'd have lost to Arizona St., but as it is they could easily make the final with either Notre Dame or Georgia without a QB.

But then the hammer will drop in the final.

That may be true but comparing him to Garrett is hurtful. :lol

He's a far better coach than Garrett, to be fair.

The point I was trying to make is that where they are similar is that they make the same mistakes repeatedly and don't seem to learn from them.

If Penn State coached this game with sense, Allen would have had 200 yards alone.

And as I say that, Singleton breaks it open.

Don't really see how anybody can argue that this was some sort of damning performance by Jeanty.

Penn St. has a top 10 run defense in the country, have a very obviously massive talent advantage over Boise just about everywhere, were clearly selling out to stop Jeanty to the detriment of their pass defense, and he still put up 100+ on 4ish YPC with another 20 receiving yards.

They did a great job against him and obviously bottled him up, but you'd expect that given the talent disparity and the early lead they jumped out to.

Outside of 1 or 2 runs he did very little.
