College Basketball Chatter

I love how Providence plays...got down 10 and they never lost composure.

Florida is not a great offensive team, but they are such a good overall team. So good on defense and so physical.

Damn...been some bad offensive basketball today.

Surprised Buzz Williams left Marquette for Va Tech.

My team went out in the first round of the NCAA tournament but I have a continuing interest in one of the teams. I knew the coach of Mercer college when he landed his very first coaching job at a high school in Piedmont, Oklahoma. He was a good coach back then and I am not surprised he is now a successful NCAA tournament winner by knocking off Duke. I will be in his corner today as they try to advance.

Really looking forward to Wich St and Kentucky.

It's too bad to see Kansas lose. I wanted to see them at full strength against some top teams. Probably wouldn't have mattered if Wiggins was going to play like dookie like he did today, though.

But, I'm very happy for Johnny Dawkins. The Coach K tree is pleased.

Wiggins did play like crap, but it looked like Kansas never saw a 1-3-1 zone in their life. Self didn't attack it correctly and made no adjustments until it was to late.

And Wiggins only takes 6 shots? That's on him and Self and his teammates. No reason 6 guys get more shots than your best player. Wiggins does have to be much more aggressive, but you can coach a guy to be more aggressive when their 18/19 years old. Self is a real good coach, but I'm not sure he's the greatest at developing talent. I guess his job is to win though.

And I still take Wiggins #1. He probably won't bethe best rookie next year, but when he's 25 I think he'll be the best of the bunch with Embiid a wild card.

Damn...Kentucky is playing great...poised for so much youth.

And that performance pretty much shows why I've been saying Wiggins is not going to be an MVP type of player. He'll be an All Star but he's not transcendent, I wouldn't put him on the level of an Anthony Davis, Derrick Rose or Kevin Durant coming out, he seems like a Blake Griffin caliber of prospect.

And this Kentucky/Wichita St. game is sick.

Feh. They were poorly prepared for the 1-3-1 and he does not have a decent PG to get him the ball. Tharpe was bad.

Both teams just stepping up large...actually a well played game. Lots of close games, not many well played games.
