A very important part of the foundation of our legal system is that an accused person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

It would definitely suck if you're accused of a crime BUT YOU'RE INNOCENT, and you can't afford bail so you have to rot in jail until your trial. Which could take months or longer.
