Yup.

He actually started off 2011 on fire, but IMO, he was single-handedly responsible for losing at NYJ and against Detroit. It's such a shame too because that Jets game was shaping up to be one the finest performances of his career, and instead, it ended with a Romo fumble at the 1 and a backbreaking interception that set the Jets up for the GW FG.

And we all remember the Lions debacle with his 3 INT's in the 2nd half, with 2 of them being pick sixes.

And that really is the story of his career. The guy is so good at times, but he's also his own worst enemy.

Romo and Witten are already in the ROH. Jerry will see to that. I think there is a debate about it if you want to take championships into account, but it is a done deal from our owner's perspective.

As for Romo being a top 10 player all time. I think skill wise there is no doubt. You want to talk about excelling at the physical skills of his position, he is right up there with anyone in our history. His decision making is what pulls him down.

They are what made the star make so much $$$ for teh JJ.

After that the most important Cowboys for the first 2 SB were IMO Lilly and Staubach

For the other 3 Jimmy(the carachter), Emmitt(the heart), Irvin(the soul), Troy(the brain) and Haley(the cojones).

3. Aikman
4. Lilly
5. Dorsett
6. R. White
7. Irvin
8. Allen


After that you can make a case for Renfro, Hayes, Wright, Jordon, Ware, Howley, Harris, Martin, Witten, Pearson...and yes, Romo...to round out the top 10.

I also think 10 years from now we talk about Tyron Smith the same way we revere Larry Allen.

And you would be right. I have seen them all and Romo is right up there even with his snaffus.
 
I will tell you some of my favorites but I don't say the are the best. Walt Garrison,Don Meridith,Leroy Jordan, Lance Rentzel,Mike Ditka. All these are older guys but I liked them more than some of the later crop.
 


Hope Brent doesn't drop some weights on him and kill him.

I was aware of that but I saw him play the game in Dallas and he was an outstanding receiver. He is and was one of my favorite players. It's a shame his legacy is what it is but it is of his own making.

Only if everything else works.

Romo was unbelievable in 2011 with so many inexperienced players on offense, Felix Jones ineffective, Murray hurt, and of course one of the NFL's worst offensive lines. The defense that year was atrocious, especially the secondary. The head coach was calling the plays, and mostly he was drawing from a hat labeled "deep pass".

Let's see how well Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Manning, or Wilson would do in those conditions. Romo played with broken ribs, punctured lung, and made a star out of Laurent Robinson of all people.

If his team could play defense at all, they'd have beaten New York in Dallas and advanced to the playoffs where clearly anything could have happened.
