2026 Season | Week 7 | Gameday Chatter Thread | Cowboys @ Eagles | 10/27/2026

Yea, I've noticed the DL getting good penetration a bunch of times this year and the RB will just kind of dodge around it and find an open gap. Normally when you see that sort of penetration in other games you have players flying in to finish it off for a TFL or tackle for a short gain, with us you consistently see it turning into 4-5 yard gains.

The huge run to start the second half of the Tampa game was a perfect example, Williams drove his blocker 1-2 yards into the backfield and nearly into the lap of the RB, but there wasn't anybody flying in to finish the play when Irving slowed his momentum.

That tells me the back 7, or maybe the edge rushers, are mostly to blame.

Gary...

Hyphen OLB coach who is called a "fast riser" here because he went from TCU and Baylor to Georgia for a few years... UGA which always has some of the best talent in the country.

The ILB coach is from SMU, too.

No idea why they thought these college guys would give us any edge. Maybe it was just Jerry's cheap ass budget.

I think we went too green with the defensive assistants. Should have gotten more experienced guys as opposed to up and coming college names.

I've actually found him to be mostly a disappointment this season but he was good last night I'll give him that.

I think there is a tendency for him to get lost in the shuffle a bit having Lamb and Pickens, but it seems like he always makes an important catch every game.

Yeah I think he shows up as a very good player. But there are limited balls for him. Lamb is the NFL leader in targets. Kind of makes for thin pickings for the third WR.

And its not going to get better for him if they continue last nights formula (which they should).

He just has to make the best of what he does get. He will get more targets next year when Pickens walks.
