Never expected to talk about tennis in this thread, but on US tennis... I played competitively as a kid, and it's amazing how popular tennis used to be in this country compared to today where it's basically a niche sport. The population of the country has grown tremendously since the 80s, but we have fewer top players than ever before. To me, it's ridiculous that these little European countries are so far ahead of us when we have 380 million or whatever people.Yea if he didn't win the French (also due to very fortunate circumstances with Alcaraz out and Sinner having a heat stroke) I don't think he would have but that released a lot of the pressure on him.
I'd like to see another American win a Grand Slam after all these years, but not some cheap shit like that with Sinner out and Alcaraz having to play at midnight after being out for 5 months.
I think we win if the offense plays like it should and scores enough to carry the team.I think we win if the defense can fix the "communication issues"
I think this is probably how it plays out. I am just hoping beyond hope the defense looks even half decent. At least that would give us hope for the rest of the season. If they look again like they did last week, what homerism I have will quickly diappear.I think we win if the offense plays like it should and scores enough to carry the team.

All this to say, I don't see how the USTA is considered anything but a massive failure. I really don't keep up with tennis anymore, so I don't know what exactly the hell they've been doing, but IMO it's a disgrace and I wonder if they ever get any heat for it.
Especially with Cotton starting the thread again.Let the bullshit continue.
Get used to it. I was up at 5:15, but waited until after 6:45. I'm not going to wait any later than that. So, if someone wants to start it, they better be up and at 'em before then.Especially with Cotton starting the thread again.

No, not a threat. I was simply relaying reality.
So because you are selfish insomniac, we are doomed to an 0-17 season. Great. Thanks a lot.Get used to it. I was up at 5:15, but waited until after 6:45. I'm not going to wait any later than that. So, if someone wants to start it, they better be up and at 'em before then.
I don't put much weight in superstitions outside of funsies on this board, but If you feel that strongly about your superstition you will set an alarm and make sure it doesn't happen. You are one hour ahead of me so that's 7:45 your time. Not unreasonable. So because you are selfish, we are doomed to an 0-17 season. Great. Thanks a lot.
Your spazzy way of dealing with time is what is unreasonable, along with your face. Look back at them over the years, most of the chatter thread threads were started in between the hours of 9-10, regardless of time zone.I don't put much weight in superstitions outside of funsies on this board, but If you feel that strongly about your superstition you will set an alarm and make sure it doesn't happen. This is even more inconsiderate.Oh, and btw, I won't be chattering much through the early games because my mom and dad are coming over. And, I'm going to choose my parents over you hoodlums every day.
