Wonder if he is a possible practice squad guy. I really see him as no better than fifth or sixth corner here. But he knows the system and can play snaps if injuries hit.

Although on the other hand Parker has coached him so if he thinks there's something there I'll defer my opinion for now.
 
Jackson is fine as like one of the last DB's on the roster, and given what we've done in th secondary I'd be shocked if he was anything more than that.

Basically competing with like Reddy Steward for a roster spot.
 


After Parsons popped his ACL I think we definitely came out as the winner of the trade, but even aside from that I'd rather have what we got over just Parsons.

That's specific to our roster situation though, I think there are teams out there where Parsons would make more sense over Quinnen/Clark/Lawrence, etc., even coming off the ACL.

Trading Parsons was kind of the price we had to pay for the sins of some of the poor roster/draft decisions made between 2022-2025 and the inability of the FO to put a solid supporting cast around him. Given his lack of size/inability to stop the run Parsons is really kind of a luxury piece if you're talking about paying him as a top 3 defensive player in the league. If you don't have the lunch pail guys/depth to do the dirty work you're just going to run Parsons into the ground and have a very flawed defense, and that was exactly the situation we were in this time last year.

I absolutely disagree with this. Just the addition of Quinnen alone completely changed the dynamic of our defense. Clark was decent. And, I think Lawrence has a decent chance at being elite if he gets the right coaching. You also have to factor in the two 4ths we got out of Parsons, too.

They had one of the best defenders in the league and it's a failure of the front office to not be able to build a defense around him.

I agree that the Williams trade changed my perspective on it quite a bit because he's not that far off of Parsons' level. He's not quite as good but adding a legitimate Pro Bowl player to the front 7 while still having those extra resources changed it a good bit for me.

I agree, that's what I basically said, that the sins/mistakes of how they built the roster from 2022-25 kind of put them in a position where they had to move Parsons to replenish the rest of the defensive depth chart.

There were other ways around it but I think if they had just stayed the course last year, extended him for 40-45/year, and just made marginal changes around the edges it wouldn't have worked.
