2026 NFL Draft Chatter

So, you guys have been talking about Faulk a lot so I finally went and watched him myself. I wasn't all that impressed. He seems slow off the ball. He also is not very athletic at all. His lateral movement was almost awkward looking. He seems to be a great run defender but looks more like an average pass rusher. I think I would take Methusidor and Parker over him. I'm not sure I would even be interest in him at 20, tbh.

Faulk just seems like a Chris Canty type to me. A guy you're thrilled with if you took him in a middle round, but you're very underwhelmed with if you took him in the first. I wouldn't touch him in the first.

So what I am hearing you say is that you are a fan of him being pick 12.
You need to get you some of these...

I mean, he seems to be really good against the run, but I'm just not seeing it in the pass rush at all. We can get someone like that later.

Just draft Konga on day three. Basically same freaky athlete, same great run defense and same non existent pass rush ability.

Or Kaleb Proctor who is a great athlete. Small school. 291 pounds. Would be perfect to plug into that 3-4 DE spot.

Not saying those guys are "better than" Faulk. Just that I think that Faulk is getting arbitrarily overrated because he had some cleanup sacks in 2024. And that's why his sack numbers dropped so much in 2025. Cleanup sacks are going to be fluky. When you're creating your own sacks and pressures, that's going to be more consistent.

The pass rush should come from the interior, which isn't always possible since they often only rush 3 with him as the lone guy on the interior taking on two or three guys. He's not an elite edge rusher by any means, maybe one day but certainly not now.

But watch him against Oklahoma a bit if you want to see some hints of the interior rush.

Too late. I have given my draft perspective for the day. Now I'm going to watch a documentary about the Texas Rangers 2023 World Series season. kthxbai

BTW, I didn't mean any offense, Simp.

It's ok, I've gone back and watched Faulk over and over hoping to get the excitement that Simp gets for the guy. And every time I come away with the same impression. I even went back and watched highlights of 2024 thinking, ok now I'll see it. The guy had 7 sacks, this will at least get me a little excited. And then I watch the best of the best of his plays and I'm like, so he stood there, QB scrambled up the middle and he tackled the QB as he is scrambling. It's very uninspiring stuff. Sure you see him line up at NT for fun on a pass rushing down and make a play against a single block or things like that. But I really just can't see the greatness.

If Dallas takes him I really hope that they can tap into the potential right away and I'll be wrong. But he looks more like a guy who is a very poor mans Greg Rousseau. Like you're hoping if he maxes out he can become that. But Greg had like 15 sacks in college in a year doing it. So I haven't even really seen that level yet.

But this is the fun of the draft. Two people can look at the same guy and see totally different things.

Oklahoma had a lot of offensive line issues last season.
